Only because the Oystens use the windfall to boost their pension fund
The whole discussion is about a ‘model’ to follow-that isn’t one. You have an example of a side that mostly used free transfers to get promoted and eventually stabilised in the top flight despite having no tycoon and small crowds. There isn’t really another one around-once in the PL the parachute payments and TV money allow you to spend more
Nor is Burnley’s they spent 115% of their income to get their in the first place and wages there have sky rocketed. In fact they were spending probably 3 times more 10 years ago than us this season
There isn’t a business model to get promoted other than spend above what you earn
Yet they didn’t in 2013/14
I have a feeling Bapaga will be worth enough in a couple of years to pay for most of a new stadium.
It’s Bigi Mk 2
Glad nobody is getting carried away. One more cm and i think your right. Buzzing with walker today. Godden and walker the new Dublin and Huckerby
Slightly off topic, just wondering who was the last team to get promoted from league one to the Championship, then following season promoted to the Premier league?
Need to be back at Ricoh Arena for that.
Last team to go between the two divisions back to back was Sunderland.Slightly off topic, just wondering who was the last team to get promoted from league one to the Championship, then following season promoted to the Premier league?
Watford did this 98, 99. And then back down again, beating you lot on the last day of the season as we dropped.
Bottom was a bit of overexaggerating, but funny to see I'll probably be proven right about us getting relegatedLittle bump on this. Mostly accurate and fair reflections although Bury & Derby may have got just a little carried away... Nice to see ccfcisparks doom and gloom isn't a new phase I had only just noticed. He's been going strong since before the start of the season
Weren't far off , I don't think we Improved gradually rather stayed at a level for too long due to injuries , but we improved when it matteredNot for me, bottom half finish maybe 16th/17th... But we will keep improving over the season and the following season push on to mid table top 10
People really are underestimating how strong this league is
Correct21st place or above will do just nicely. This is gonna be a long and frustrating season. Absolutely nothing like the last 3 seasons.
Never changeRelegated. Bottom.
LOLBottom was a bit of overexaggerating, but funny to see I'll probably be proven right about us getting relegated
Oh god
You could just say I quoted you out of context, that’s what Grendel does!Oh god
Correct
LOL no worries mate, i put it out here but I'm more than happy to own the fact I was wrong.I only looked this up as I wanted to know where I said we'd finish .
Sorry mate
I think G had control of my account that dayYou could just say I quoted you out of context, that’s what Grendel does!
It depends what he can bring in. We have no idea what the budget will beOne thing is for certain - progress is required and the manager cannot justify a lower league placing next season
It depends what he can bring in. We have no idea what the budget will be
Of course it does.No it doesn’t you are only as good as your last day
Get to the end of the season and still in the Championship and some firm progress on coming back to Cov, either by something happening at the Ricoh or them surprising everyone one and actually putting in a planning application, and I'd be ecstatic. Especially if we can go into the last couple of games already safe.
