He's done/is doing a very good job at Boro. Was only a few games ago they made Sheff Utd look very ordinaryJust reading some of the comments on their forum. As with us, I am sure it's a minority, but those calling for Carrick to go surprises me.
I know Robins has his number, but I am a fan of Carrick as a manager, as I was when he was a player. Think he's one of the better managers in this division.

Joke went over your head thenEccles will be 25 on his next birthday. Hardly a spring chicken football wise.
They were better with 10 men I thought. Weird how that can happen...Considering they had 10 men for so long I thought they played well.
Didn't we go to a 4-4-2 after their sending off? Looked like it to meEccles really thrived in his role today, it was quite interesting to see us defend in a 4-4-2 shape at times and Eccles take up something close to a RM. Great cross for the Thomas’ goal, supported MVE defensively and brilliantly broke forward for his goal. More of that please!
Make no mistake, it was a 3-4-1-2 shape but because Rudoni isn’t a LWB by trade, we’ve tweaked the shape to compensate for that.
As a unit, Rudoni, Sheaf, Torp and Eccles all worked well together. Keep them in the team for Derby!
Defensively, definitely. In attack, it was a more fluid shape where Rudoni and MVE were providing the width - like a 3-5-2 shape.Didn't we go to a 4-4-2 after they’re sending off? Looked like it to me
Probably missed it but why wasn’t Simms in the squad yesterday?
Foot injury somehowProbably missed it but why wasn’t Simms in the squad yesterday?
Fired their players up and suddenly they seemed to play with a lot more freedom. They were better with 10 men I thought. Weird how that can happen...
Josh Eccles picked his spot fantastically well and he picked his spot, after making a superb run through after being seen by Haji Wright.
He kept his nerve and as I said, he picked his spot and it was a fitting end to the scoring.
We forget how young Eccles is, he still has achne!

He clearly did. He actually bent it round the goalkeeper. Considerable nerve, the easy option would have been to move to his right to open up the angleReckon he picked his spot?
He's only not most of his career leftEccles will be 25 on his next birthday. Hardly a spring chicken football wise.
Not complaining but Oggy and Clive like listening to Waldorf And Statler!
What with Oggy constantly referring to us playing Brighton and now Clive saying that Baptise (Basette) coming on it’s a fucking car crash.

1. See above, Eccles goal was really well taken. We don't threaten enough from midfielders running from deep.
2. Following the matchday thread from the settee you would have thought we were being hammered. Why don't people make due allowance for the fact that we were playing a top team away from home. Sometimes I despair how little people, many of whom know a lot more than me about the game, seem to put their brain in to neutral when actually watching. Felt this way last week. We were all over Luton even at 0-2 - the signs were there. Not on here though.
3. 10 men. Teams often respond well, and after all 10 v 9 is only a small advantage. It tends to show over time. Tats was completely unmarked before the second goal and BTA and Wright were queuing up at the far post - the defence was beginning to get weary.
4. Robins got it right - including the substitutions.
5. I suspect we all began the season assuming Rudoni was a like for like swap for O'Hare in the pocket behind the front two. Just shows how real life can change the best laid plans. Rudoni's skills need the space on the flanks and Tats and Torp are looking a good combo as AM.
6. Brilliant to see Tats near his best. I thought he cut a sorry figure at the start of the season
Well Said Gibbo. Well done City. Thank you for successive "happy Sundays".Home thoughts from abroad

Odd commentWhy are you posting? You know we won today right?
Should have been another red thoughDo you think somebody had a word with the ref at half time?
We (well, I was) were all worried that Rudoni, Thomas or BTA was going to get sent off.
Mark Robins didn’t appear to be concerned about it.
The referee gave five yellows in the first half.
In the second half, there was only one booking, at 85 minutes.
Would have to have been the 4th offiicialDo you think somebody had a word with the ref at half time?

I was walking back after the game last night and a lady police officer started talking to me saying that she loved us going up there as she liked to hear us singing twist and shout.
She was a bit miffed that she didnt hear it yesterday although we did sing it once.
It was nice to hear her view of us.

I wish! She was half my ageThen she arrested you?
Maybe because they couldn't have been worse than when they had 11 on the pitch. They were better with 10 men I thought. Weird how that can happen...
