I hope so too... only sane way forward now I think.... but the King sounded a bit mental on his latest post hearing interview with Gilbert....I’m hoping we use this thread. I glass half full on this one.
King said along the lines of he wants to still challenge Ashley for the ground! Someone needs to reign him in already!!At what cost to the club?
If it's going to happen, hopefully it will just be a "here's your money, bye"

Where ?King said along the lines of he wants to still challenge Ashley for the ground! Someone needs to reign him in already!!
Interview on CWR....Where ?
....that also owns the ground...It would be great to start with a new new owner in December.
Since the verdict?Interview on CWR....
A lease to play there for the club, the fact ACL have totally run out of cash suggests it's by no means a certainty it's a cash cow, and the fact that getting the club debt free, as opposed to Ranson debt free, releases the club from interest generated debt, making it easier to run in a 'sustainable' way and, in theory, means more budget for the playing side.Has to happen , can't be ran by chancers forever , what's the point in doug king buying the club , or a better question ... why on earth would you bother ?
Seemingly may want to offer him money for it....Since the verdict?
The stadium is done , gone .. it's Ashley's
Better than SISU, pilloried by Newcastle fans? Maybe good reason to do so but Newcastle fan‘s passion meant that they wanted a rich owner, hence a Sheik with a Stake.Just completely desperate that it’s even come to this.
Our best option is a widely disliked tracksuit merchant with a mediocre track record in football at best, who may not even want to buy us anyway. Great!

If mediocre is splashing his company name on the stadium and giving us premier league football and survival .. I'm in
People forget ashley never owned St James Park either
I know ‘Big Mike’ has plenty of fans on here, but the “Toon fans wanted the moon on a stick” stuff is just a tired cliche at this point.
The facts are facts - he took Newcastle backwards and set them back decades compared to who they were used to competing with. Were they not taken over by another Billionaire Ex Machina, there’s a decent chance we’d be playing them this season or next.

Says a lot about the situation that we've got people hoping we get taken over by someone every other club is desperate to avoid.
The guy is basically a running joke, when there's talk of any club being up for sale their rivals give it the 'hope Ashley buys them' line.
were not every club are we?
how is he a running joke? A successful businessman who with Newcastle ended up selling to the Saudi’s and now look at them?
he wants the club. He is part of the reason why we are flying up the table. We have a lot to be thankful of him already
What’s his track record of buying a club and improving their league position and financial clout?
He gave Newcastle “PL football and survival” from a starting position of being one of the biggest spending clubs in England who played in Europe almost every year.
[citation needed]
What position did he play for us against QPR m8?
Ashley's ownership of Newcastle was not dissimilar to SISU's ownership of us, they just started at a higher point. 9 out of the 10 seasons prior to Ashley's involvement they finished high enough to be playing in Europe. Under Ashley they were relegated twice and only qualified for Europe once.I know ‘Big Mike’ has plenty of fans on here, but the “Toon fans wanted the moon on a stick” stuff is just a tired cliche at this point.

If he didn’t temporarily fund the running of the CBS there would have been no game.
Yeah, which doesn't contradict SBT's initial point of course.I agree with your analysis, and ideally I wouldn't want him, but he'd be an improvement on the current mob, we need rid of them
That was exactly my point, we're not every club, we're so deep in the shit that we're welcoming an approach from someone everyone else is desperate to avoid.were not every club are we?

I'm not sure the fact that Newcastle were better before his ownership and have improved since he has left is quite the selling point you think it is
Ashley has exactly nothing to do with the current performance of the team.
CCFC didn't play there for free.
If he comes in and guarantees promotion to the PL, no massive debts needing to be paid back to him etc then what's not to like?
