Wouldn't really say anybody shone.
Bidwell and Rudoni worked well down the left, bad miss from Rudoni though.

Notable mention for Dovin, when Thomas put that hospital pass and he put a well timed tackle in. It could have easily been a red card or a goal.

Midfield was sh*t today, stood still like d*ckheads every time we had the ball at the back. Maddening stuff. Sakamoto shouldn't be an automatic choice. Meh.

Its so fucking frustrating watching them all stood about playing statue tig while the back four play keep ball.

Eccles and MVE poor
Sheaf average

If Rudi puts that in and we win 1nil the scores would be much higher for our defensive unit than on here so far. Seems MVE is the new one for people to hate on but I thought he was much better today. All 4 and Dovin decent apart from that one silly ball Thomas gave to Dovin. Midfield needs to be more progressive, strikers need more than just hard work, but we weren't far away. Would've been nice to see Raphael or Tavares to run at them for the last 10.

Really liked Tanganga for them.

Dovin 7 His goal kicks…..seem to……take…..quite a……long……..time

MVE 7
Thomas 6 The aerial heroics will continue to mean nothing until he cuts out those ‘Bobby Thomas moment’ passes
Latibeaudiere 7 MOTM Tough as nails and some decent long range passing too
Bidwell 7 Would it shock you if I said I thought he was good defensively and a bit stale going forward?

Sheaf 6
Eccles 6
Torp 6 One of these guys needed to carry the ball ffs

Sakamoto 5 Offered painfully little
Bassette 6 Fair play for the lungbusting run at the end of the first half
Rudoni 7 We looked most dangerous when he stuck out wide

Simms 6 Put himself about
Thomas-Asante 6 Thought it was the wrong switch tbh

Our set piece coach needs sacking too! They didn't know what to do with a dead ball. Nobody moving for throw ins and that first half free kick was embarrassing. Everyone wanted Dovin to launch it too, but nothing ahead of him looking for space.

Dovin 7

Clean sheet and very little to do. To be fair, got Thomas out of a hole after his daft back pass so maybe saved a goal but his score stays a 7 due to his lack of urgency and guile in distribution.

MVE 6

We’d miss his covering pace if he wasn’t there but his confidence looks shot. He’s a happy go lucky / upbeat / fun guy in a team of miserable dour characters. That dressing room spirit we had has totally gone.

Lati 7

Did a job. Took few risks.

Thomas 6

Daft back pass aside, reasonable.

Bidwell 7

Solid defensive. Going forward nothing sparkling.

Sheaf 6

At least he had a crack at goal rather than pass first half but other than that far too conservative. He’s the skipper and the playmaker and the team follow his orchestration. Dour rather than dire.

Torp 6

Kept pulling to the right wing too often.

Eccles 6

Steady

Rudoni 6

Right out on the left wing not his position.

Tats 6

Quiet

Bassette 6

He’s not a target man, needs to play off a big fella IMO.

SUBS

Late.

I don't think its so much as hate for MVE its more disappointing to what he seems to have become, he rarely tries to beat his man, gets caught ball watching always seems to want to pass the ball backwards and his performances compared to last season have dramatically dipped, its a shame because he was one of top players last season

Thought we struggled with the setup because EMC offered something not many of our players do and that is take players on.

Bassette didn’t offer anything for me (again) and feel that we need more than a bit of youthful energy. Simms looks constantly more of a threat than him.

Another player that contributed little today was Sakamoto, the vast majority of his passes were directly backwards and didn’t look like taking anyone on all day. That said, his flick on at the end nearly created a shot on target.

Midfield, it was the same problem as always - Torp, Eccles and Sheaf are pass-first players and we need someone to carry the ball more to beat the press.

Very turgid first half performance by whole team.

However quite impressed by second half display. Jack R was excellent in second half.
Also good performances by Jake, Victor and to an extent Milan
Josh took up some sensible positions covering breaks from Millwall.
Ellis looked quite sharp .

I am a lot more positive about performance than most of these on here.

Not going to rate everyone but Lati played very well for the second game running. Commanding, good in the air and didn’t put a foot wrong from where I was but also at least two very good cross-field balls. Bobby played well but also made one terrible pass. Pleased to see Dovin keep another clean sheet.
