Aside from the fact I'm sure I used to know this guy in the early 90's, something is decidedly 'off' about his disappearance.

Read the OP title & assumed you were talking about Simon Gilbert on SBT.....

.....but then realised he's maintained radio silence for longer than that.....

In fairness, I don't think he has written any articles so probably having days off from work!

He is the dad of my daughter's school friend have spoken to him a few times at kids parties, seems a real decent bloke. A bit strange that he paid for somebody's diesel

Bit too soon to make that assumption but if he was seen a couple of days later it doesn't look as if he is in trouble.
