Wow....I went to my first ever MLS game where two of the lower teams, Tronna and Chicago were playing . It was teeming rain from start to finish, and all of this in a non-enclosed ground (no roof anywhere in the ground)....we got drowned.
Couldn't help wondering during the game at which level this game would be in the English leagues. At times they looked Premier class, at other times they could pass for a mid-table Championship team, and during the second half they deteriorated to a Div 1 team. Nothing like the LA Galaxy level of play that we see on TV which is probably lower Prem/Upper Championship. Anyone else go?
Are you asking if anyone else on a Coventry City forum has been to a MLS game between Toronto and Chicago today? Seems like a long shot but worth a try.
I have to say that despite attempting to watch a couple of MLS games on TV I have never found it engrossing but that maybe that I have no affiliation with any team.
What got you interested in MLS? Are you on hols or do you live over there?
I'm a former Coventrian living here in Canada and have followed the English game on Setanta/CTV/BBC for the last 30 years. I took my grandson (13) to my first 'live' MLS game and couldn't help trying to evaluate where its 'fit' in the English game was. My post was more or less for fellow Sky Blue Canadians who might have been at the game. Wasn't really expecting any SB fans to make the trip. I'd watched a few MLS games on the box, but that was usually the better teams playing. Toronto and Chicago have a long way to go.
