In all this banter no one is questioning why the council sold our assett(Coventry Taxpayers) so cheaply to the WASP's! All this About SISU shit is not giving me that answer. If they had sold it for £42 million the correct valuation I would not have a problem with WASP ownership. Instead the Nationals rags putting out shit headlines this morning about Southgate being involved some tax avoidance scheme these fucking hacks need to dig into the goings on in this deal that's where the good stuff is.
SISU giving up their right to own half of ACL by breaking the lease allowed anyone else the opportunity to buy ACL. If they hadn't broken the lease no one else would have wanted to pick it up.
Without morals? Shame you ain't as critical of the council and their morals eh. Your as hypocritical as they are. I await your angry shouty swearing response.
As you know the value drastically reduced after we left. That is the only reason we went to Northampton. This part of the SISU went perfectly. Just a shame it was the only thing that they did well.In all this banter no one is questioning why the council sold our assett(Coventry Taxpayers) so cheaply to the WASP's! Really? The lease didn't give the club exclusivity. Anyone could still make an offer. All it meant was there was a formula for a sale price. A sale price much more than what wasps paid.
Would you like to have the facts right before making false claims? We did have an exclusive bidding period.Really? The lease didn't give the club exclusivity. Anyone could still make an offer. All it meant was there was a formula for a sale price. A sale price much more than what wasps paid.
I'll bet you'd be like skybluezak and not bat an eyelid if SISU had got the stadium for f**k all though?
What club had paid for it?And there it is. Such an articulate individual. The club had paid for it. Why would you want the club to be ripped off? The council only put in 10 million. Their own accounts state that. We then propped it up with an extortionate rent because of the council's ineptitude at running a business. Sound familiar? You keep ranting sisu this and that though. There is enough idiots in the world that will agree that it's all their fault.
Don't give a fuck who owns the stadium to be quite honest! I am a Coventry tax payer! so more concerned about my fucking property being sold cheaply, when you have got someone disabled or eldeley who needs help the council have cut the budgets so much you would not believe what they have done. If those morons had got true value for our assett then some of the cuts need not have taken place. If they had sold go SISU at that price I would still have written this responseI'll bet you'd be like skybluezak and not bat an eyelid if SISU had got the stadium for f**k all though?
And depending on which way it would sound best to point trying to be made.Hard cash? No not a lot but you can measure things in different ways.
Why does wanting the club to be given the stadium mean I have morals of a sewer rat? Or are you in full angry nonsensical mode? Nothing wrong with my morals. Maybe you should look in the mirror angry man.
So what does 'ours by right' mean?
My memory is of a funding shortfall that was met in part by an investment by a local charity and a bank loan taken out by the City Council.
Thats why a management company was set up to maximise revenues and service the repayment of the loan. As Mike Mcginnity said at the time "We need attendances of 23000+ to break even"
We didn't achieve that on anything like a regular basis, so CCFC'S board emptied their pockets until a point of no return was reached in 2007 and the 7th cavalry arrived with the role of General Cluster played by Joy Seppala.
Joy took everybody's shares off them, but the loans weren't repaid and NO MONEY was paid for the stadium.
So at which point exactly did the Ricoh Arena become OURS?
The charity and the City Council have secured the return of their stakeholding as they are legally obliged to do, and the bank loan has been repaid.
Now explain how any of this would have been achieved if the Arena had been gifted to SISU.
And while you're at it, remember that it was never SISU's intention for the football club to own the stadium. They planned to rent it to CCFC 'at a commercial rate' which is SISU speak for BLEED THEM DRY.
They made this intent clear from the outset by setting up several layers of ownership and re affirmed it many times since. Remember how they demanded the freehold?
Indeed.
Now wipe the sleep from YOUR eyes.

Well I did write wouldn't want to rather than couldn't, as the club had the right to buy a 50% share of ACL at a maximum of the formula price, it could have been lower, and was going to be lower as part of the original failed bid. Why would anyone else want to bid for ACL when the club had a right to buy 50% at any point? I would suggest no one would want to, do you think someone would?Really? The lease didn't give the club exclusivity. Anyone could still make an offer. All it meant was there was a formula for a sale price. A sale price much more than what wasps paid.

Top post? Because he agrees with you? It's pathetic how people pat each other on the back for following like sheep. People are abused for asking questions and posing a different angle. The higgs bought the clubs share as they had no money. Funnily enough this was before sisu. The loan taken out was by acl and not the council. It was taken out to fund the fit out. A management company that didn't really make any attempt to maximise revenue as they were bleeding theclub dry aalong with the dross signed by various managers. The council didn't extend the lease and then sell the ricoh. This would have maximised the sale price. This is why we have a jr ongoing. Did the council not set up layers of ownership for the build of the ricoh. Sure there was a cimpany called Coventry north regeneration or something?

Will be interesting if Gilbert's book, as suggested, states that the council were discussing the wasps deal while the club were still paying rent.

CCC budgets, just the same as all council budgets have been cut all over the UK mate. Yet to respond to the highlighted sentence... A lot of posters on here(In particular skybluezak) wanted to distress CCC/ACL to the point where SISU/Otium got the stadium for nothing. So suggest you have a go at skybluezak then
Each 50% shareholder had the right to veto. Have another go.Someone did. The council stake was the keypart. They had the veto. It would be sold to wwhoever they wanted and it was. Unfortunately for ccfc and crfc fans it was a London rugby club. Still one in the eye for sisu eh
It'll still be sisus fault. And we'll still have morals of sewer rats for wanting our club to play in the stadium that was built for them and they propped up for years. It's unbelievable.
Spot on. My feelings exactly. Wasps will do more damage to CCFC than SISU ever will.
Each 50% shareholder had the right to veto. Have another go.
It would be interesting. Is the suggestion this is paying rent before the lease was broken, or after? And is it just reports of a rumour, or does it have any substance? Will be interesting if Gilbert's book, as suggested, states that the council were discussing the wasps deal while the club were still paying rent.
Eloquent as ever.
You already know. What single act actually increased the value of acl?
FFS read the JR verdict. Its clear what Sisu wanted and how they planned to get it.Top post? Because he agrees with you? It's pathetic how people pat each other on the back for following like sheep.
