Standard playing it down i reckon. we're gonna win the leagueThat was interesting. Not expecting us to start strongly, still trying to get attackers in, fan expectation v TM's slightly longer term plan.

Yeah, but it does worry me, a long term plan if we become reliant on loans. We would just have to start again from scratch next season, or hope academy players come good.
Was always going to be plenty of loans personally I don't mind that providing they have quality and at the moment they seem to. What is the maximum allowed ? Think there are different catorgarories

Didn't Watford rely heavily on them last season or the season before? I was sure they had 11 loans in total in the squad, all of which went back to parent clubs when they got promoted. I guess the extra cash from promotion helped them re-fill the gaps and re-build the team.
I agree, it is worrying relying on the loan market but if done correctly, it can work. For every Watford though, there's 23 Coventrys.
Here's hoping we become the 'one'.
Look at swindon! same as last year shipped in maximum loans allowed, providing the loans are good enough and commited to playing it can be alrightWas always going to be plenty of loans personally I don't mind that providing they have quality and at the moment they seem to. ASH i dont think the court date has anyhing to do with CCFC its purely SISU wanting its pound of Flesh from the Coventry City Council and us poor Tax PayersThere is no plan for the future beyond Feb 2016 I believe...the next court date !
We are talking about what's needed to compete in League One ..........Do Sisu,SW and TM not realise the 1st game is tomorrow?
In real terms we have brought in 1 player for a fee, a
couple of journey men and some kids,The kids are a gamble who,if they do play well can be recalled by their Clubs and/or sold to clubs with money (not us then)
What time was he on? Will give it a listen on iplayer
You haven't been paying attention have you.
No...enlighten me
1. We were never going to be bringing in players for fees. It is a positive we have paid a fee at all.
2. Ricketts experience and leadership. Vincelot player in his prime and can take the club forward. Lameiras comes from good football background young with lots of skill and potential, probably ahead of our youngsters. Stokes TM has worked with first hand and obviously feels he has the right attitude and can develop. A good mix of signings I would say looking at immediate problems and looking more long term.
3. TM has to try and get the most out of his budget. Like all managers at this level he will have to use the loan system to plug gaps. He will try and get the best quality he can, Armstrong and Morris are good starts.
4. He has not finished building his team yet and is prepared to wait for the right player at the right price. He also knows the type of character he wants in the squad. Players being available isn't the problem, finding the right one is more difficult.
5. To obtain success some of the existing players need to develop...that's why you employ someone like TM.
6. The season may start tomorrow but it doesn't finish on 1st September.
7. It will probably take three transfer windows for TM to really shape his team. No manager has success with every player they sign, some will disapoint for a variety of reason.
I think we will only finish about 12th but that would be good progress. However if we can find the right form at the right time (after Christmas) we might be pushing towards play offs. However any team in this League will need luck with injuries....nobody has that much strength and depth at this level.

Yes i remember seeing the News article! if its changed then everyone is in the same boat and they will all have to sign players on cotracts which may not be a bad thing really. Apart from the Premiership loaning out youngsters to get them experience all the other teams use the system to get players moved and freeup their budgets to bring in other players.I think I heard UEFA want to crack down on English loan system, it is designed to circumvent the transfer window restrictions.
