I know it might be an obvious rumour but i was told for the second time yesterday that if Mowbray stays it will in part because Waggott goes. TM has decided working directly with SW is not a possibility. Think they meet today in London, could be interesting

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a bit of truth in this. Although Fisher should quite glaringly be the fall guy if anyone were to go, Waggott does continue to involve himself in things he knows nothing about or has no right being involved in anyway. Player recruitment; shit. Enticing fans back to the Ricoh; shit. Improving match day experience; shit. Player Contracts; shit. Obtaining best possible price for star players; shit (probably overruled by Joy anyway).

He does try, but is so out of depth it's unreal. Interesting read on the Telegrapj website regarding Mowbray's future. You can read between the lines there that he wants sole control of everything in terms of recruitment and rightly so. It was obvious that this wasn't the case prior to his arrival when big Nick came in despite us having no manager!!

SW goes and TM stays. That's a win win. If TF went too that would give us the best start of a season in donkeys years before a ball is even kicked.

Not saying I believe this for a second, but if it was true it was Mowbray or Waggott and the club went with Waggott, just think how badly would that affect season ticket sales, even with the massive discount.

It has all been rumours as usual and no proof. The debate is still on over if it was Waggott or SP choosing the players. I would still go with SP choosing the players and Waggott doing the deals. To me the question is more about how many targets did we miss out on because of his negotiation skills.

By the sound of it most managers don't negotiate contracts these days. And if we were to get rid of one of them I would choose Fisher. Most of us hate the bloke. And if we want to heal the problems as much as we can he needs to get the bullet.

To me it looks like if TM goes they just want us to coast along and be self funding.....nothing else. But with them getting rid of SP which cost them money to bring in TM I can't see them making a big mess of it this time.

Give him the chance to sort us out. Not only would I be happy to have him do things his way but I would be delighted not to have a nodding dog at our club.

Great piece there from TM.

I totally admire and agree with every word he has said there in the CT.

Let's hope our owners realise that the only way for this club to make any money at all, is for the team to have success on the pitch.

Telegraph today has clearly stated the manager is not in full control of transfers. As I said months back but got shot down. If any of the sisu sympathises still carry on to stick up for them if the inevitable occurs and mowbary walks away then they really would excel themselves in the muppet stakes. Sisu need to stand up and actually do something right for once otherwise be the same old shit next season. For once someone has the bollocks to stand up against them

That's the same for a lot of clubs, Liverpool for example have a 6 man transfer committee to which the manager is part of.

There are only one or two SISU sympathisers on here. But there are many that know not everything is as bad as some make out.

It makes me laugh when reading that Waggott brought the players in but the same people saying that SP brought a lot of poor players in. Can't have it both ways. And we all get shot down on here even when the proof is there to see.

Its perfectly clear that the manager has not been in sole charge of who we sign. We still signed players while we had no bugger in charge. You can't fault Mowbray on this, kept us up, kept us informed and so far keeping his word. Interesting comments about previous managers...

Waggott has often said he would recruit the "type" of player Pressley had identified and not the player that he wanted. I can't see Mowbray working with that arrangement. Let Waggott do the negotiating with the leeches, sorry agents but leave the choice of player to the manager. After all his job is on the line should the team fail to deliver.

I have to say, I really like the things Mowbray is saying and believe he has a reasonable chance of success. If Joy vetoes this it will show that SISU has no ambition at all:

1. TM points out that he needs control of hiring and firing. Accountability has to come with responsibility and I've seen the same situations at my work where you're in the firing line without the authority to do what is needed to bring success. I've learned to walk away from those situations and TM is doing absolutely the right thing by making it a prerequisite of signing. This also now brings some credence to the people on here saying that it was Waggott doing all hiring.

2. He says he doesn't want a greater budget, just the authority to decide how it is spent. This must set him up to succeed with Joy.

3. It implies he's not going in asking for more money from himself (contract terms not the issue).

I hope he wins. Now that TM has pointed out what a mess it is behind the scenes, if Joy turns this down then we know that the mess will continue and they'll never hire anyone with the know how and authority to do the job properly.

But then the question is, just how much a part of the transfer decision making was SP?

Nah, can't believe that SW is on the way out. I don't think it's an either/or situation at all. From comments since Sunday both TM and SW seem to want the deal to happen, so hopefully by the end of the week we will hear that he is the new permanent manager of Coventry City.

And? Please tell me your not using that as a good example? Liverpool spent 100 million on utter shite this season. Same as Tottenham 2 years ago where the manager had no say. It doesn't work! Simple as that

I think he is saying what any owner would like to hear. He assumes responsibility in exchange for control.
He is not asking for more funding, he seem to believe the necessary finances are there to achieve what he sees as success.
He wants processes and structures which is the basic foundation for any company. SP also talked about structures and processes, but apparently failed to deliver.

I am quite confident he will get along with JS.

Reading the CT piece I would guess one of the following two scenarios is about to happen.

1) TM stays and SW and TF are at least on borrowed time but hopefully one if not both are gone.

2) TM goes, TF and SW stay, DH becomes first team manager.

Seriously hope it's scenario 1.
