What's up with him at the moment? Every time he touches the ball he either loses it, attempts some daft shot from 30+ yards or runs into trouble.

Send him back. Liability.

Like the rest confidence shot. They need support not jumping on. He has limitations yet a few months ago some fans thought (along with other players) he was invincible. Now his inexperience is showing through fans want to blame him (and others) for their own lack of judgement.

just picking up on your point, im wondering what the squad do in terms of team bonding. there seems a lack of togertherness and cohesion out there on the pitch. i think a golf trip or something similar is the least they deserve for their efforts so far, and who knows it may lift morale around the place, and be just the shot in the arm they need for a final push for promotion.

From social media they all seem to get on. Wonder if bringing older players has upset that a bit as they aren't part of that group?

I can see the kids losing confidence after a rough patch but wouldn't the idea of bringing older players in be to resolve that. It seems the decline has been since they've all turned up.

The thing is, there's being out of form and then there is not trying.

Murphy isn't even trying at the moment and there are hungrier players on the bench that aren't being given a chance. That's what annoys me.

You could probably say JOB is a bit out of form, but at least when he plays he makes a contribution and tries his hardest. If we don't get promotion but the lads try as hard as they can I won't be too upset, but if we miss out because the players aren't challenging 50/50s, headers, passing to team mates, and fighting for their lives and their team, then to me that's gutless and unacceptable - and that's what I'm seeing from Murphy.

Unless there is a clause, I'm angry TM keeps playing him. He needs dropping and to think about what he's doing and not be given the mentality he's going to be on the team sheet each week regardless.

I also don't buy the 'Murphy has the ability to do nothing for a whole game but produce a minute of magic' argument. We can't afford to be carrying passengers for 89 minutes per game. 11 players fighting for the club for 90 minutes round is what we need. Anything less and we will not gain promotion.

Absolute rubbish. Did you watch them as they came out at the start of the game? Hugs all round, stupid handshakes between Maddison, Murphy, Armstrong and RCC. They obviously get on very well which is to be expected as they are all in and around the same age.

Back to the OP's question. His brother played for MK Dons earlier against Chelsea, and you would've been mistaken to think that Jacob hadn't snuck in and played for him. Two peas in a pod. Poor first touch, decent pace, lightweight and go to ground very easily.

I think a combination of injuries in the back four, plus squad rotation in midfield...coupled with unfortunate results...have resulted in a leakage of confidence.

Yes there are concerns and deficiencies in the squad. But for God sake don't lose sight of the bigger picture and the progress made.

Manchester United fans almost got Ferguson the sack. What fools they would have been? In my lifetime the two most successful clubs have been Liverpool and Manchester United. Both have had managerial continuity in their successful periods. Even successful managerial regimes will have challenging periods.

If there is one clear mistake that Mowbray made it was giving a new contract to Reda Johnson. Anyone could have predicted what would happen and most of our defensive troubles stem from that one mis-judgement.

I am not a fan of squad rotation.. let them play to win a shirt then play even harder to keep said shirt

my post was supposed to be a constructive one and i acknowledge the progress made hence they deserve a trip for their efforts so far. this team has what it takes in terms of ability but the wheels have come of as late. they need a confidence boost to get back on track

My frustrations with Murphy are no secret, he infuriates me and I struggle to understand why he starts as often as he does.

He is not a team player. Earlier in the season he had a few good games, managed to net a series of goals and its all good. However the goals have dried up and what's left is a player who looks to be in it for himself and not the team. That is the most damaging thing that can happen because it means that potential goal scoring situations are wasted time and time and time again due to greed.

He doesn't just lose the ball and waste his own opportunities but it reduces the teams ability to supply other players. Arma is getting less service, Maddison too. Its like playing with 10 men. Something has to change in attack and this would be my number 1 priority.

We need to start a few games without him, let others come back in and have another go. People voice concerns over Lameiras regularly, he might not necessarily be the long term answer, but he's had little chance recently. Give him a few runs down the left, he can cross and ball and provide service a lot better than Murphy is. He has shown good partnerships with Maddison, JOB, Arma early in the season, he might even build up a good partnership with Stokes too.
