That was one of my first games too. It was so long ago that I can only really remember Speedie jumping / climbing up the fencing to celebrate, and the fact that Slaven and Speedie both got hat-tricks. Speedie actually lived down the road from me at the time, and I remember just after he left us he rode past me on his bicycle and I shouted "You're shit" at him. Which considering he's probably my all time favourite player was perhaps a bit rude of me!
Such a great player, 4ft nothing but beat everyone in the air. His lobs were just majestical, is their a player out there now apart from Messi who does the same week in week out?
Speedie and Gynn, same era but both players who defied gravity. Speedie or Dublin my favourite player of all time but Gynn comes close, so much of what we done in those days came through him.
