NEW GROUND - Broad Street OB RFC ?? (1 Viewer)

Would fit the footprint:

Ricoh 40 acres
Broad St 46 acres

More accessible ??

Why not ??

If we are talking the Ivor Preece Ground on the Brandon Road this would be a very poor choice and full of problems.
The villages of Binley Woods Brandon and Wolston would incur huge traffic issues on match days there is only a dingle point of access.
Even people living in Binley would struggle to walk there as it would involve crossing the A46 / Eastern by pass where there is no bridge or subway currently.
Road links and rail links at the Ricoh are far superior

Why not? Because Broad Street are already on it perhaps?

Think of the logistics of getting 10,000 fans to this out of town site as it currently stands it will be very difficult without building more access roads off the A46 and with 3 years of delays there already as they build the tunnel not sure there would be much appetite for more major roadworks.

It won't happen and don't bother quoting Brandon already has a stadium their crowds are small and can fit into the car park provided.

How exactly is it more accessible?

If you live in the highly populous conurbations of Binley Woods & Brandon you can walk to it. If you live in East Coventry and there is a small crowd going to say a youth game then the Binley Road should be OK and the lights at the island on the A46 usually allow 4/5 vehicles a time to get onto the Brandon Road. When there is a local derby who knows

I don't know, but surely common sense suggests it'll be at least worse than the Ricoh for access and people bitched about that all the time.

Everything past the island is Rugby council so it doesn't work as only Nuneaton council have had very preliminary discussions. Plus Broad st have millions in the bank bcos of its previous two moves

I'll tell you now RBC will never approve it in a million years.

If the residents of Brandon had a valid argument to have Brandon Stadium closed down (which they have been trying to do for as long as I can remember) RBC would have backed them to the hilt for decades. They ain't going to approve a football stadium as good as next door but one.

When SISU have finished building it, the local derby will be Southam away (a well tasty crew - would be bedlam on a Boxing day bank holiday away):sarcasm:
