SISU own the Ricoh, football club back in home city, everyone happy.....then SISu sell football club but retain ownership of Ricoh rent it to football club with high rent...sound familiar, can you smell the hypocrisy?
Careful what you wish for....this is the SISU plan.
who would buy the club under those conditions?
Would you be happy if ACL sold to CCFC at market value with a covenant on the land that ensured that it could only be owned by or sold to a company that operated a FL club or owned the golden share?
God help the lawyer though who had to draw up the water-tight covenant!

Personally, I don't give a fuck how much the club pay for the stadium. If they got it for nothing then great.
I really wish I could follow the logic of anyone who thinks the ground should be given to SISU.
I can only presume you are in the habit of giving things to people for free? Especially those people who are trying to rip you off.

The reason for all the angst and arguing among fans, is because it feels as if you are stuck in a maze blindfolded, there just doesn't seem anyway out of it. Everyway you turn you see a dead end.
Even most supporters of SISU seemingly don't believe the new stadium promise, and all the evidence points that way. If by some miracle a new stadium was to be built, what state would the club be in after 4/5/6 years playing in Northampton? Even then after years more of losses ,plus the new stadium costs, how would SISU ever get their money back, even if they were minded to sell up.
Equally it is hard to see how the Council would ever countenance a sale to SISU ,and certainly not at a price that SISU would probably wish to pay. If as seems likely that SISU lose their appeal re the stadium loan, what do they do next?? How long can they spin out the new stadium idea, sooner or later, they are going to have to put up, or admit the new stadium is not happening. Then what??
Good grief, why should there be any submitted plans yet anyway?
Once again a comment that says there are no councils with any stadium plans submitted, is taken as read and proof personified so everyone gets their knickers in a twist and it's hate SISU some more.
Good grief, why should there be any submitted plans yet anyway? Will they build a stadium? I don't honestly know but see the thinking and I don't see why not. Will they prefer to be back at the Ricoh? Absolutely! can they get a suitable deal to do that? Hmm, they should and the parties concerned have a million ways to skin this cat and my big concern is why the heck aren't they doing so???
Stop making mountains out of mole hills people and start concentrating your efforts on ACL/Council/Otium as one campaign and then we might get them listening. While playing one side against the other they will both continue to ride their ego trains. We need both these organisations to start respecting the City of Coventry, it's historical interest and football club and above all the fans, men, women, children and the generations gone before and the future generations to follow and stop messing with the towns major asset like it was some pawn in a game of chance.

It is usual practice when developments on such a scale are envisioned for discussions to take place with the local authority planning offers prior to the purchase of a site.
While these discussions can’t bind the local authority on which way the decision will go once any planning application is eventually made; they can help developers identify whether planning permission is likely to be particularly difficult on the proposed site and whether it is appropriate to purchase land for the intended purpose."
It seems that even the posters not as anti SISU as the most of us are beginning to come to the conclusion that the new stadium could be a figment of Joys imagination! Surely if the stadium is bogus ,Sisu's plans are a complete and utter lie . In that case shouldn't we all stick together to rid ourselves of these dubious gang .
The club should own ACL - not the Ricoh stadium in its bricks and mortars. Coventry City community should still own that.
And the club shouldn't just be gifted ACL. The shares should be bought from CCc and Higgs.
There has been much talk about an agreed HoT between sisu and CCc dating back before the rent strike. Maybe the conditiones outlined then (revised to current circumstances) should be the basis for a sale?

I agree that CCc taking over the YB mortgage was a game changer.
But I disagree that sisu are waiting for ACL to go into administration - that could take years.
More likely they are waiting to see how CCc will react over the coming months. The purpose of taking over the mortgage was to help ACL management achieve their aim to force out sisu and get in Hoffman/Elliott. As that clearly failed there will likely be a few CCc members who will look at the whole ACL structure and wonder if changes should be restricted to new ACL management or if ACL should be sold to sisu/ccfc entirely. I think the last option is the best for the club long term and it will certainly bring back the team to Coventry.
How about a return to the Ricoh with access to all match day incomes in return for a fair and reasonable annual rent conditional to what division we are in? ACL make the money off the rent and other functions at the Ricoh on non match days?
