Lets try not having a manager, let the inmates run the asylum. Most of the teams that have a manager fail to get promoted.

For me, the three I'd opt for (personal preference only, nothing more) would be Kenny Jackett, Graham Alexander or Nigel Adkins.
He'd be my pick out of the more realistic options I've seen.
Sky bet has taken the odds down and only betvictor are taking bets with Venus as favourite. Is MV a done deal?
Yes, in fact from reading that article I'd say they are recruiting and that MV is not in charge on a permanent basis. Whether or not he applies / is appointed is a different matter of course. For the first time the CCFC website has described MV as 'caretaker manager'.

MV may not be a done deal.
Only the deluded thought he might have been a candidate.Well it won't be Warnock, he has just gone to Cardiff.
Didn't we know Venus was caretaker and temporary? I must be missing something.
Betting suspended
We’re hearing that at least one bookie has suspended betting on who is set to take the top job.
We’ll be updating you on all the latest developments as the club appear to move closer to making an appointment.
Its vanished on skybet.CT saying betting suspended.

If it's Pressley I can wait until after Christmas to be honest.Wow looks like things could be progressing quickly. Maybe we will get an announcement today or tomorrow?
It is Thursday tomorrow and we do like to announce things on Thursdays.Wow looks like things could be progressing quickly. Maybe we will get an announcement today or tomorrow?
Promoting from within has served us well in the past Eric Black did well and then unbelievably sacked for "a high profile manager"we all know how that went. Also John Sillett didn't do a bad job.
Im not sure it did to be honest Otis, i think he lost it tacticly at the end. maybe the pressure of all the off field stuff lack of funds etc did him. I mean we were flying last year, then no new players of worth came in and the youngsters tired it unravalled pretty quick. Not that maddison was messi but im sure hat didnt help. No money pre season targers missed and it was a mess. your probably right about Curbs, though i do think a decent manager would work this squad better. The lack of any real money to get good players in though, will always be our downfall whoever we get sadly. But surely that is what hurt Tony Mowbray isn't it?
He said himself he knew nothing of League One and if Curbishley has been out if the game for 6 years then surely he will know nothing of current League One football or players there either.
As Nick says though, maybe he has been scouting and keeping his hand in or something.
Not knowing League One proved problematic for Mowbray.
