Yeah I’ve looked at a few parcels of land round there. Posted about one I think UoW don’t own but have an option on elsewhere. Lots of land with use restrictions on that would seem to rule out a stadium up towards Gibbet Hill Road.
Isn't up towards Gibbit Hill Road CCC area land anayway?
The land will be WDC land

If you read the options document put before council before the Wasps sale was agreed they basically see Sisu or “a third party sports team” as the only options and Sisu not being willing to put a serious bid in leaves them with just Wasps. No Wasps would suggest the option is between Sisu and fuck all.
I’m not convinced Wasps will fuck off yet mind.
Still too early to tell, tbh. They, no doubt, would say that.Yeah, Wasps aren't going anywhere. Think people need to get out of that mindset.

It's a bit irrelevant now anyway, as CCFC have decided a new ground is Plan A, so that happening doesn't need Wasps to be here, or not to be here. Best thing we could do, for all our sakes, is forget all about Wasps.

Chris Anderson was asked at an open Trust meeting about the sites Fisher had been on about. His answer, delivered with a smile, was 'I think that a site was once identified.' in other words he felt it was BS.Don't think it was ever publicly revealed.
Fucking hate rugby, but feel a bit for CRFC as they tend to be forgotten about in all this, whereas in reality what CCC did to them was as disrespectful to one of Coventry’s historic sporting institutions as what they did to us, more so in some ways. At least Milton Keynes didn’t already have a team one league lower when they parachuted Wimbledon in, so you could argue it’s worse than that situation in a way. Imagine if they’d supported their local teams in the way they’ve tickled wasps’ nuts for them, who knows we could both be in the top division and the council would have had a proper city of sport, happier residents and more money (hugely so if we both actually had made the top division — realise that’s a massive if).We should all support the real Coventry Rugby Club!

That turned out longer than I planned.
Rugby's set up rather differently. The glass ceiling has been artificially placed over CRFC, in the same way that Leyton Orient are restricted by West Ham, say.You mean if only the council had arranged a stadium for CRFC and CCFC?
Um....
Do people think having two competing clubs harms Manchester football or Liverpool or Birmingham or London?
I really don’t get this argument. Cov Rugby attendances have been growing since Wasps arrived. They seem fine.
People really need to get over Wasps. It’s getting silly and it’s not good for your blood pressure.

I dunno, but it really doesn’t feel like the council have supported either team recently and it would have been interesting if they had. Supporting might mean not bringing in a third party, negotiating a favourable rent when we were on our knees, stuff like that. You mean if only the council had arranged a stadium for CRFC and CCFC?

To be honest, I dislike wasps due to the way they carry about their business. They don’t seem to care about collateral damage as long as they achieve their aims, and the way they achieve those aims appears ‘ethically’ questionable at times. I’ve known plenty of people like that in life, they always seem to be the ones that make money but not friends (just hangers on).Sometimes it does seem that Wasps going bust is the much bigger priority, when talking to some City fans.

Anyway, not looking to go over old ground again, we are where we are and all that. I just don’t see where we realistically go from here so I’m hoping this new ground isn’t bullshit.
Well there's today's 10 pages of old ground (pun intended) to rake over!I mean the third party is literally only here because of our clubs actions and a new rent deal has been negotiated repeatedly and we’ve rejected it for a pretty costly one in Brum. It’s never been about the rent really.

Without sounding obvious I think it is all hanging on this up coming EU decision which seems to be taking an age and what happens especially if the sisu claim is thrown out, what will they do then.
Surely it will revert back to UK law and the last verdict by the highest appeal court in the land was a rejection of the sisu claim. Would be good to hear an expert legal eagles view on that.I think we can all agree on this. Hurry the fuck up EU. I’d hoped Dec 31st was a hard deadline but as people have said even if the remedy isn’t enforced Sisu can probably use any judgement.

Also don't know if anyone has used it but BEIS looks like the body that would be aware of progress.
Good question there seems to be some talk that there is another stage but I don’t know enough to know about that.Without sounding obvious I think it is all hanging on this up coming EU decision which seems to be taking an age and what happens especially if the sisu claim is thrown out, what will they do then.

Equally .. what if it isn't?
Then we’re probably in for another five years of this crap.
and your entertaining banter
There'll be something else, there'll always be something else!I think we can all agree on this. Hurry the fuck up EU. I’d hoped Dec 31st was a hard deadline but as people have said even if the remedy isn’t enforced Sisu can probably use any judgement.

Nah, same arguments, different clothing. At least we get new arguments then!

All of that describes CCFC's owners as well.
It certainly can. That's not a reason to like Wasps for it, though! All of that describes CCFC's owners as well.
