Pure fantasy. I think under previous managers we would have seen 'named' players come in but not TM. I have heard one of the players is from Eastern Europe and was meant to be on trial with us in Europe before the tour was cancelled.

I'm sure the Telegraph said that Maynard was on trial with Forest. There's no way he'll have to drop to league 1, plus how would we afford his wages? He was playing in the Prem just a couple of seasons ago, surely on 20k plus easily. He's still the right side of 30 so would rule this out as much as it would be unreal to get him here.

Eagles could be a more realistic possibility. Didn't TM say he was after a winger? He's had a stuttering career, always thought he would go on to great things.

Since his retirement my dad lives down at Ryton. Not literally but we used to live in that part of the world so he knows everyone. He was a big mate of Jim the gateman who I think has retired. We also used to know Alf Woods who used to walk everyday from Wolston.
Anyway, my dad actually informed me 3 days ago there were trialists at Ryton and would play at Nuneaton but I thought twice about posting that on here because even with the best intensions in the world most on here don't believe anything.
My dad said that one guy (trialist) was on the wing putting balls over well and one other guy (possibly the eastern european) was knocking them in. So these could be Jacobs and the before mentioned european guy.
It's starting to get exciting isn't it?

Maguire - first team at Wednesday last year (48 games). Under contract I believe. No chance.

Eagles - Currently on trial at Preston. Could only happen if they decide against him.

Maynard - I've read there are 5 Championship clubs plus Celtic after him. Can't see it happening.

These certainly aren't from someone with inside information. Sorry.

You're right there Coventry City are a much bigger name than Celtic, in fact we have double the amount of letters in our name.

Perhaps the better term would be his wage expectations would be too high. You're right, we offer him a deal (£2.5-3k pw), and he takes it or he doesn't, and if he doesn't then it's probably due to him wanting higher wages and getting a better offer.

Agreed, but no player, having accepted that he has to drop a division, expects to be payed championship wages! They know the score.
