I'm sure you've all noticed it, but Palmer fucks me clean off with that weird pushing his arse into the defenders dick for no reason when he has the ball

He's already ahead of the defender, use that yard or so to your advantage and break.

But no, he decides to bend over in front them, back into them leading to arms all over the place etc, and then decides to run

Makes me irate everytime

You do realise one of the basic coaching methods for a player to gain space is; step back into an opponent and then spring forward. They are rocked back on their feet and you are moving forward. It can gain you two yards. Technically a foul but a ref will never give it.
Jack Charlton coached it all the time.

Don't think we'll see 3 keepers here come end of the window. Couple more tweaks and we are almost there. A good window this far.

Yea I'm aware of that

But watch to the extent Palmer does it. It's constant, exaggerated and usually results in losing the ball instead of using the yard or so he already had to take the ball away

I quite like Palmer, but I don't see how he will fit in if we move to a flat 3.

I think he is a good Championship player, but that's his limit. He would flourish in a foreign league, I think, where he had more space and more time.

Apparently, Callum Doyle has signed for Norwich on loan, that's a shame, he's Left Footed, could've been cover for Jake Bidwell if he gets injured and the extra Centre Half we need.

We have cover of a sort in Burroughs who's played either side, might be worth keeping him around IMO?

MVE was being watched even before he came to us, clubs will always keep an eye on a players journey. There is interest, same goes for Sheaf, who's been heavily scouted this past 2 seasons. Thing we have to remember is, it will take a record bid for either player, is there anyone prepared to meet those valuations at this time. We hold the cards, a position I'm grateful we're in, it's about time.
No need to panic though, whatever happens, players are not irreplaceable. Scouting is ongoing. They have come out and said the aim is promotion, selling without replacing is out of the question.

Wise words. People wanting our players is a good thing. Clubs should be watching most of our players. Simms should go for a fortune in a year or two. I remember having the likes of Birchall, Kyle and Cairo on the books. We couldn't give them away!

Exactly this. Going to have to get used to being a team with wanted players. That's a great compliment to us as a club. MVE has so long left on his contract, that we can afford to say no, come back in a year when he could potentially be worth even more, and still 2 years on his contract. Dovin, I can already feel will bring a great amount in the future.

100% agree.
Palmer's effectiveness is over-rated because he shows flashes of skill occasionally, but essentially he is a bit of a show pony. Allen is more effective overall (and a better team player too).

Generally no smoke without fire in my opinion. Often the bidding club has had some encouragement to continue negotiations.

Doug managed to get Binks transfer down from £6m to £1.7m so it’s no suprise we are apart on the valuation. I’m sure after time they’ll accept our next offer of £250 and a signed Sean Maguire poster.

This feels like an end of the window deal where both parties want to meet in the middle and get it done.

My bugbear with Palmer is the amount of times he gives the ball away and slowing down fast counter plays. Sometimes he keeps it moving quick but most often slows it down wanting to look up and take 2/3 extra touches.

we are at our best when we counter fast (well, pre new total football philosophy change)
