Apart from it not being the same as the last one, yes, that's correct.Pretty much the same as the last one

Yes, plenty of places you could be served alcohol. Saudi have said no alcohol anywhere. So nothing like the last one at all.Alcohol was allowed in Qatar wasn't it ?
I think they usually do don't they? That sand gets everywhere.Wonder if they'll again ask gay fans if they could please just avoid doing anything gay while out in the desert
Probably a bit warm for doing gay stuff to be honest.Wonder if they'll again ask gay fans if they could please just avoid doing anything gay while out in the desert
Sure, it’s only a place where they chop off heads for not believing in a fictional beingUnpopular opinion I’m sure, but so long as it’s open to everyone, I think it’s ok if the World Cup is held in a place that doesn’t just have the same customs and hospitality that you’d get in any stadium in Western Europe.
Well yeah that would come under the “open to everyone” part of my post. That’s worth getting upset about - not being able to have your beverage of choice at the game isn’t really important, is it?Sure, it’s only a place where they chop off heads for not believing in a fictional being
How about ‘gay people can come but only if they promise not to show it’?Well yeah that would come under the “open to everyone” part of my post. That’s worth getting upset about - not being able to have your beverage of choice at the game isn’t really important, is it?
This hopefully won’t surprise you, but that also pretty clearly comes under the “open to everyone” part. This is a thread about selling beer. How about ‘gay people can come but only if they promise not to show it’?
If you show it, wouldn't you get done for flashing? How about ‘gay people can come but only if they promise not to show it’?
I assume they mean holding hands so there'll be lots of arrests when everyone starts hugging after a goal.If you show it, wouldn't you get done for flashing?
Spot on. Some of the most pissed up people I’ve encountered were in the Red Lion. The Saudis go to Qatar to have a drink. It’s some time away so plenty of time to change but not sure if they’ll ever back down on this.Yes, plenty of places you could be served alcohol. Saudi have said no alcohol anywhere. It’ll be January/February 34 or 35. Ramadan is November/December so that rules out the same period as Qatar. On the plus side it will likely be winter again meaning a nice break from regular football, the season extended in warmer times at the start and end of season and I'll probably take a holiday at a cheaper time somewhere warm that isn't Saudi with as much cheap beer as I want. Yeah I know, selfish bastard![]()
Perhaps they could cut off someone's head on the pitch for some light entertainment at half-time? The point is that it's not and never was going to be open to everyone.Unpopular opinion I’m sure, but so long as it’s open to everyone, I think it’s ok if the World Cup is held in a place that doesn’t just have the same customs and hospitality that you’d get in any stadium in Western Europe.
It really is a despicable country.Ignore the Islamic regime apologists, it's another stain on what will be once again a rubbish competition.
Anyone that has been to a tournament will tell you the social side of it and meeting other people in pubs and bars is a huge part of what makes the experience. They've sold their soul here again.
That said, 198 people were executed in Saudi last year. Maybe they can put on some Gladiator style entertainment for the crowds instead.
Shambolic.

Or saying 'Jehova'Have sex outside marriage would be one way of getting stoned there I suppose
Well yeah. Again, I thought the thread was about selling booze.Perhaps they could cut off someone's head on the pitch for some light entertainment at half-time? The point is that it's not and never was going to be open to everyone.
But this is obviously a solemn warning of what alcohol can lead to.Well yeah. Again, I thought the thread was about selling booze.
I thought was 34 to ensure it is still in world cup yearSpot on. Some of the most pissed up people I’ve encountered were in the Red Lion. The Saudis go to Qatar to have a drink. It’s some time away so plenty of time to change but not sure if they’ll ever back down on this.
