Sorry best I can do but after another Mogadon interview by Venus that's him isn't it?

The first caller after the game summed him up really. He has no empathy with fans at all and seems completely disengaged.

Again his tactics are wrong he says and he had to change formation.

His role in signing players shows he's the last we need in January looking at whatever is on offer.

Clueless, lame and dispassionate. It's thorn again.

Fisher for once do something useful and leave him in Bolton and tell him to go home and do not come back.

Higher up at the club very soon, I don't think it will matter.

Have to agree only problem is the new manager is left with the same poor team, they are just not good enough.
Do we then blame him if we get religated.
Need at least 5 new players, and I can't see that happening

Yep we are left with the same poor team. I'd say that we've got good enough players to not go down. But that's still shite, we should be amongst the Bolton's and Sheff Utd's, it's crap atm.

They are a poor team but there are still loads of points to play for so a new manager would have to take some of the blame if we got relegated.

I can't see us bringing in extra players and wouldn't be shocked if the squad was smaller after the Jan window.

What we could really do with is a management team, perhaps one who comes in as manager and sends his number 2 up to the board room? Just a thought?

Do agree with Grendels point though; I agree this is all too Thorn-Esque and we have to act now.

If we give him til January, he'll draw up a list of targets. Yes, we probably won't get the ones he will want and end up with scraps, but the scraps will end up on the list at some point so he can say he got the targets he wanted.

I'd rather not wait around to see what dross we can bring in under his leadership.

If he wants to stay on the board, that's fine. I mean, who Else is going to see the Ryton ground sale through since Tims too busy identifying land for the new stadium??

I just want him to move away from the managers seat

We just haven't got that killer instinct we had at the start of last season.
Can't see where all our goals are cming from and if Willis gets injured we are doomed at the back.
Only upside Burge seems to have come of age.

I can't see MV or any other manager being able to turn it round without the backing from within the club. We are a rudderless ship that is really struggling to steady itself, never mind move forward. MV is not a manager 10 games honeymoon is well and truly over and he is already making his excuses about Jan and not knowing if he has ability to move in the market.

We all know it will be one perm out and 1 loan in whichever way you cut this, until the ownership changes all we are doing is rearranging deck chairs on the titanic!!!!!!

I think he is as much to blame for our poor recruitment as TM. He crossed the time and dotted the i didn't he?!

In all seriousness though I agree we could well be relegated unless we bring in a "proper" manager. Having said that, we could be relegated anyway because the current squad is woefully short of quality especially in attack.

We have to deal in the January window and we have to bring in better quality.

This squad is not good enough. We need strength and physicality and we need at least one centre back, one midfielder and one striker (the failed loans of Aygei and Wright end in Jan anyway).

Worrying times and we should have got the recruitment policy right in the first place in the summer.

Why are the likes of Scunthorpe, Peterborough and Rochdale in the top 6?

Rochdale get an average 2000 fans. Do they have a bigger budget than us?

I'm sorry but as much as we hate SISU they will have provided TM & MV a budget that was competitive in this league. They both wasted time looking at players better than this level and we ended up recruiting badly.

They have no experience of League 1. That is not what we want.

MV needs to go. Time to bring in a proper League 1 manager who understands the constraints of this league and knows how to recruit tactfully and realistically.

The problems started before Thorne he was just a,symptom of the club cost cutting and cutting corners. Our scouting and player recruitment has been poor, player retention has been poor. Venus being appointed Manager in the first place shows w h at the club's policy is. January just doesn't bring quality on our budget. It will be like last year signing old players and cast offs and hoping. I always said giving Venus until January was a stupid move. A decision either way was needed by December, so whoever is in charge can try to utilise the January window with some knowledge of the squad.

It was a desperate music pun to be fair - it stemmed from a rare decent caller in the phone in who referred to him as having zero fan empathy which is right I think. He seems as detached as Fisher and I suspect is out of his depth.

I get the Impression Venus feels disdain for us, sees the fans as the problem.
If he's as frank as people who know him suggest he'll probably tell us that at some point.

Why are the clubs you mentioned doing better? simple, they are ran better?. They have a plan, a strategy of how to achieve what they are aiming at. We on the other hand have no plan, no aim and have no idea what they are doing. The only plans that seem to get recycled is for TF to stall fans from asking really important questions, lie, spin and generally talk bollocks. While JS plan is court cases, compo and how the fuck do we get out of this with some money in our pocket. The only real plan i see is to have no plan, but to stumble on the hope of a few wins to keep the wolf away from the door. When the wolf comes knocking then they start acting like they are looking for a manager who will change the direction of the club upwardly, its the biggest illusion in football.

The football to sisu is a distraction and a piece of a business that they really don't want to deal with. So you may get good football people within the club but they might as well be pissing up a rope other than trying to gain any progression.

As TM said sonner or later they are going to have to invest in footballers and keeping them. This club is not built to succeed more to survive with the hope a few will come along and support the boys, so the illusion can carry on.

Didn't hear the interview as I was driving back from the game last night. He set up the team as he had in the second half against Oxford and I think he did the right thing. The last thing we needed was to be 3-0 down at half time again. It didn't work too well so he changed it around and after this we were the better side. The bloke has a plan B and uses it when required. The same moaners about Venus now were moaning that we didn't have a plan B and were too one dimensional before. The players say they enjoy him being in charge. We have improved since he took charge. Give him a break FFS.
