Just looked and next week Oldham play Bury and Port Vale play Swindon. They obviously all can't pick up 3 points.
That's the spirit!!!If our form between now and the end of the season is better than Chelsea, Newcastle and Sheffield United and the other teams just outside the relegation zone go into crash mode then yes, we will most definitely stay up.
Thanks for that Dan:emoji_stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: glad the wife was at work she might have thought it was a bit strange me putting that channel on
Spot on. Before today's match we had to win all but 3 of our remaining games. Today's was one of the three .Even though Oldham lost today and we therefore closed the gap by a point, we are in fact further from safety than before kickoff because we require more than 2 points per game and obviously only won one today, so the required runrate has increased.
I know it was only a point, but luckily for us Oldham, Bury and Swindon all lost.
I think we could just survive with 7 wins and 2 draws from here = 23 points, plus the 26 we have = 49. I suspect that would be enough.Spot on. Before today's match we had to win all but 3 of our remaining games. Today's was one of the three .
I truly never thought 'happy' would play a part in this seasons events. The op's post has just killed me tho!You seem happy?

You need to watch a match then. We're staying up until in my book until its mathmatically impossible.
You need to watch a match then.
This team will be lucky to get another 10 points.
You're not by any chance, trying to wind up CC4L, are you? It won't work, he's not talking about TM any more. I don't think we'll stay up, but just want us to play football on the ground, and move forward over the remainder of the season. If only we had a manager like that Tony Mowbray we wouldn't be in this position!
We were not that good?Has anyone seen us over the last half dozen games ? We are worse than shit
I don't believe it, but you have to think in baby steps. Win next week and others lose and we close the gap.
Small steps. We now need to aim for two wins on the bounce. Two wins, see where we are, see if the gap is closing.
We can't think in terms of having to win 8 games. Just concentrate on baby steps and set out to win each game as it comes up. We need to steer clear of looking at the big picture.
If we look at the table it all looks nigh on impossible.
Obviously a win next week would be massive, because Bradford are right up there pressing for the play-offs and beyond.
Don't look at the size of the task in hand, just let us take one game at a time.
You could only wind cc4l up by 1)taking his play station away 2)confiscating his dirty mags or 3)ripping down his naked Mowbray poster from his nursery bedroom wallYou're not by any chance, trying to wind up CC4L, are you? So, other results are irrelevant? Don't get that logic at all, Oucho. Why was that lucky for us? Our single point means that, with an average of two points per game required before kick-off today, we're further away from achieving the final safety mark than ever, even though the current points gap has shrunk by one.
You admit we are down so surely the results of others sides at this point is irrelevant?
Unfortunately, Coventry are bottom of the form table and have been for weeks. There is no sign whatsoever of anything turning around.<snip>
Other results are very relevant because we need teams to fail spectacularly. Even then 50 points for us may not be good enough
See Gazolba reply above. Other rrsults are in practice irrelevant because at the moment it seems very unlikely we'll get to the current 39 point safety mark, never mind some notional higher safety post of 50 or so. It's irrelevant because we won't be getting close to safety. So, other results are irrelevant? Don't get that logic at all, Oucho.
I thought we all agreed to a man that the only way we can stay up is if other sides crumble and fail.
IF 50 is the magic number, Oldham only have to get 11 points from 10 games. Bury 10 points from 10 games.
That's 3 wins, 2 draws, 5 defeats for Oldham and just 3 wins, a draw and 6 defeats for Bury.
So not even anything like average form.
Other results are very relevant because we need teams to fail spectacularly. Even then 50 points for us may not be good enough
