We've all heard about Jamie vardys rise through the leagues from pyramid football Charlie Austin and Chris Smalling to name a few to gone to the top of the game, but there is some good players down in non league football.
Millwalls top goal scorer Lee Gregory was signed from Halifax after scoring 29 in the conference.
Bradfords James Hanson signed from guiseley not a prolific goal scorer but a great target man still managed to score 70 goals in over 300 apps.
Peterborough, they are well known to sauce the best talent from pyramid football, the captain Michael bostwick is a very good effective strong defender, he fell down the leagues and had to come back via ebbsfleet and Stevenage. Attacking midfielder Marcus Maddison, from Gateshead. Connor Washington sold to QPR in January. Over the years they've had success of a few other also Dwight Gayle, Craig mackail-smith, Lee Tomlin and Arron Maclean. All committed well to Peterborough's success over the last decade.
Really think ccfc should look at some of the lesser known players in non league football, look at the success we've had with Chris stokes. Players that have fallen away from professional clubs but have the heart, fight and belief they will come back stronger to have a career in the game.
Sure some won't pay off and cope with the step up but a good few will and have more commitment and fight than a few spoilt players who are highly thought of by there agents and academy's.
