novelty of sixfields wearing off? (1 Viewer)

I stand on the hill and you can see that a few are getting fed up with it, even when we win there is a lack of excitement on peoples faces.
The problem is what we can do to change the situation, it does not look like our owners actually care how we as fans feel.

On another thread I commented that those who take younger children to Sixfields are doing the right thing as we need to keep our future supporters interested but when the atmosphere is so bad it makes it even harder to encourage continued interest.

There's only so much some will do for a free view.

Have you ever stood on the hill to watch a game?
You will be surprised at how good it is, especially on a night game, just like being at back of block 16 at Ricoh.
Cold, yes very but I am lucky as carry a bit if weight to keep me warm.

Like I have said in past, my choice.

Whilst the novelty of some having a dig hasn't worn off.

They walk past us walk round to entrance and again when they leave, always have a chat with a few.

Could be an interesting attendance today - night game, bloody freezing, Rotherham (sorry Miller's fans), Champion's league on TV, - could be a new low?

If you care to read the start of this thread it's saying that the novelty is starting to wear off, all I am saying is that when those walking past in last few games do not seem happy, not just on Saturday which was understandable but generally.

Unlike you I never judge anyone.

If you ever care to have a sensible conversation please ask for me as you walk from ground back to car parks.

there was no novelty to start with, but it was somewhat bearable as it was a new predicament and we were focusing on light at end of tunnel.

now its just annoying and i hate it all.

im depressed.

Think there was about ten people on the hill Saturday.

In the peak of winter at the Ricoh I'd lose the will to live at the same rate as I'd lose the feeling in my toes, I couldn't add an hour or whatever travel on top of that.

I remember a similar feeling during a 0-0 draw at Highfield Road against West Brom in the early 70's during the depths of winter.
I think the feeling began to come back half way up Gulson Road on the way home, then I got chilblains sitting in front of the fire after I got home.

Three pairs of socks was my remedy last year, including thick football socks that should have been toasty. Didn't work, I just felt like I had cold and fat feet.

I still remember in the mid sixties standing by the concrete wall at the front of the spion kop froze solid. It seemed colder then. Even the bus on the way home had no doors or heating.

the only truly happy folk at sixfields are the locals getting the chance to see half decent footie,and ntfc with the extra revenue,its worse for me as a sky blue ,seeing us at sixfields and homeless ,and is nearly on par with leaving highfield road to go to that ricoh .no matter how good the footie is ,wat the results are ,we are cov and should be in cov ,so walking away after a win is still a miserable trip when you remember wer you are.and saying its a novelty is very disrespectfull to those who can not stand the thought of our team playing to an away fan only home game and the love of the team for 90 mins without the politics .its becoming so negative being a city fan im now thinking of staying away full stop ,best days work we ever did was 87 ,and the worst for the club ,down hill from ther ,one robbing twat to another ,and as much as I hate sisu ,I hate ccc , acl, Richardson and every other wanker who hav been party to the demise of ccfc ,and now we seem to be doing it internally on forums like this one ,wat ever happened to the westend stand together mentality we used to have ,.don't forget this all started when the move from highfield road was first discussed ,and the main instigators are still involved with the mess we have today ,the council .that's me rant for today ,but please remember ,ther are those of us still about today ,who were totally against the sale of highfield road,we cant go back and have to move on ,but its hard for some of us who have supported ccfc as lifelong city fans ,before the glory of 87.the way it is going I can see us going into admin again before the end of the season ,with the powers that be ,cashing in ,in the jan window and walking away .there are at least 3 players who are being scouted and id say sp is top of some peoples list .don't know if they can do it but I bet they are, and will be looking for a way out by the new year.and before you shout me down ,I and others wer shouted down at highfield road for stating our fears about moving to a new ground ,.don't mean to offend anyone or alienate anyone threw age ,but this is how I feel ,

The only good thing for those who have been to Sixfields has to be the success thus far of the team and the way they have played. Surely if you took that away you would be left with a 70 mile round trip to sit in in a non league atmosphere with piss poor facilities?

Have some respect,leave them alone. They have a principle to stand on the hill as you may have to enter Sixfields.
Or do you get free listening at home.

Dont lets be so arrogant that there are not things we can learn from the Sixfields experience. Yes it is a bit of a prefab but;
You are close to the pitch wherever you sit - makes you feel very involved in the action
It is out of town but there are still pubs/places to eat nearbt
parking is easy
The pitch is far superior to the Ricoh despite having twice as many games
its nicer for kids

Some of those things we can and should do something about when we return to the Ricoh.
