Difficult decisions to be made i feel. Personally i think he is worth a go.

As well as we played tonight i think that we should not be too quick to call for Shaw's appointment. I really do feel that we could use an experienced hand to "guide the tiler" this year...

Slightly different because Shaw has some coaching/assistant experience behind him, not just with this club either. So maybe he is a slightly less of a gamble than AT was.

As good as tonight was, you can't judge how able Shaw is on the basis of it. Don't forget that a change of manager often brings a honeymoon period. Players want to impress, or maybe after the Thorn debacle over the weekend, they feel there was a point to prove. Trouble is, if Fisher is serious about appointing a manager in a couple of weeks, that's a very short time for Shaw to make an impact.

Where we go next is up against Crewe. It's imperative that we carry this over from tonight. IF we can keep this up against Crewe and Burton, then maybe there is a headache for someone up in the hierarchy of the club there. But what we must not do is let tonight count for nothing. We simply have to carry this form over for the future. I'm encouraged by tonight's showing that the squad has the ability to get results. If we can match tonight with results against Crewe and Burton, Shaw may have put himself firmly in the frame.

I'm starting to think Shaw is a good shout. He's passionate, committed, calm under pressure and he has a grasp of tactics. He's got several years of coaching experience and a good back room staff in Oggy and Carsley. He works with the lads personally on the training pitch and he's good in front of the press.

Favourite quote from Shaw on the radio so far:

"Jennings back had gone, Barton was running on empty Kilbane is old, I didn't know who to take off!"

I'll see how we play on Saturday but I'm starting to lean towards him!

Give him Crewe Burton and Stevenage and if we keep playing like that then give him the job til the end of the year.

Not convinced he's the way forward just yet. Easy to motivate players for a local cup game against higher division opposition.

I sort of agree with you.....but then i think we could have management team of ex players who would put more effort into getting us out of this league.
Its a tough one for sure.
