Hold on, where are all the apologists ???????????? Crawled off back under their stones in order to think of a reason why Coventry feckin council must be at fault for this latest insulting charade by the immoral hedge fund ?!

To be fair, I only argue when I believe people create their own conclusions from nothing. And I've had the 'pro sisu' tag pointed in my direction a few times.
But for me, there is nothing left to argue about. The facts are now pretty much there.

They are a strange bunch aren't they. Don't think I will ever understand the psyche of anybody pro SISU, - clearly unable to have rational thoughts

Yes but your wrong Robbo.

1 council has been approached regarding ground and 1 has been approached regarding training complex (which I would guess was for Cat 2 training centre for the kids) So 2 councils have not been contacted regarding stadium.

Your guess is confirmed.

Rugby Council replied as follows:

"Rugby Borough Council can confirm that approximately three months ago the Leader of the Council and Executive Director met with representatives from Coventry City Football Club to discuss the club’s proposals to develop a Category 2 Academy training facility within the borough. The representatives of Coventry City Football Club were informed that the proposals were unacceptable to the council and there has been no communication with the club since that meeting.”

you can phone any Council planning department & discuss land & a speculative proposal. I see Lanarkshire was not on the initial list asked to respond. LOL

This is now even more beyond a joke than before. I continue to dislike our owners.

Can't wait for the clubs statement.

Wouldn't want to be Sandra Garlick tonight.

I expect something along the lines of "We made initial discussions then went away to do studies". Which is lame as all hell but the only get out I can envisage right now.

For anyone who has not seen the Nuneaton & Bedworth council statement - here it is. Robo, think you'll see - nowhere is it said there may be future contact.
Is this the point where Sisu have painted themselves into a corner? I'd like to think so. Jeez, I hate those bastards for what they've done to us fans. And our club.

Statement Regarding Media Speculation

Published Thursday 9th January 2014

Following speculation in the media about a potential application to build a football stadium in the Borough, the Leader of the Council has issued a statement.

"As per our previous statement, the Council's policy, along with data protection laws, mean that we never confirm or deny speculation on conversations that may or may not have taken place between officers and third parties.

"However, in this instance the third party developer has released information that has enabled the media to deduce through a process of elimination that we have been approached.

" Under those circumstances I can confirm that an enquiry has been made by a developer to Council officers, however this was of a very speculative nature and at an early stage. Since that initial exploratory contact we have received no further approach and we are therefore not considering any proposal for any particular location."

Leader of the Council, Councillor Dennis Harvey.

interesting development

hopefully this will force sisu to expand further on their plans

saying that they will probably jsut say they are making a decision on which site they want before begining official proceedings with the council in question.

What are you going on about!!!!

Where does any of the councils approached state they don't expect future contact?? Future contact might happen with any of them but presently, 1 council have said they were approached "speculatively" and have not been approached since the "initial" contact. For someone so keen to read between the lines you need to get better at it.

When you read between the lines before you were obviously asleep and dreaming. Isn't that how you came up with a statement that is totally untrue? Seems you have more in common with your heroes SISU then you realised...

I hope you're going to be at the forum tonight asking difficult questions, like; "Is the new stadium going to be in Never-Neverland, or Narnia?".

Run out of facts and having to resort to petty insults?

It means they have had no further contact even of a speculative nature. Makes you wonder where they are going to build the stadium? Surprisingly a lot of fans have never had confidence in SISUs claims to do this.

All they have to show is a crappy artists impression. Some progress after 12 months of formulating the plan of moving away from the Ricoh.

At this rate they'll need 50 years not 5.

Anybody can contact them at any time to discuss anything.

They made a speculative enquiry that obviously the council never responded favourably to, so they never came back.
Does not mean they could not come back again, but TF has said he is in discussion with 2 councils which means this is not one of them.

I talk to them all the time about developments but it is a far cry from actually putting in planning permission.
You have the discussion so you do not waste time and money putting in an application.
If the response was favourable they would have at least put in a high level application to test the water.

Mmm, sounds to me as they have stated which is simply there is nothing on the table to look at. Had they been dismissive of any proposals I would expect a similar statement to the one that was issued regarding the training academy i.e. "Yeah they came asking but we told them it was unacceptable."

Reading between the lines?

Timothy......We are in constant dialogue about the stadium and the good it will do for the local area with two local councils. All local councils.........we are not presently in dialogue with anyone.

Unfortunately I think the reason you sometimes get picked out is because you leave yourself open to it. On one hand you say that you treat things Sisu do with scepticism and about Timothy telling fibs and then on the same thread you say the why would Sisu do all of this if they weren't serious about building a new stadium. To compound it you kept trying to justify it by saying they had spoken to 2 different councils about the new ground, but it clearly states that 1 of those 2 councils was for an ACADEMY only (Rugby). You can read between as many lines as you want but Rugby Council cannot be any clearer can they ?

To the fans attending Sixfields - take a long hard look at this latest development and see it plainly points to the fact that NO meaningful contact has been had between Sisu and neighbouring councils. They have misled us all. Most of us didn't believe them. Surely you can see you are endorsing a rotten regime? Sick to the very core. They will drop you fans like a hot brick if it means making money. No fans at Sixfields would help our team.

Have any SISU-lovers actually looked at the site enquired about? It is littered with mine shafts, quarries and old mine workings. The cost of even clearing the site for new development would stop this going ahead straight away.

Had access to maps back to 1880. It's not a site I would even build a house on, let alone a stadium.

I hope that anyone attending the forum will make the point that there is no purpose having the discussions until (like never) there is a clearly identified site where there is at least exchange of contract on purchase. Then walk out and leave Ms Garlick to clear up the coffee cups.

Once again, it shows we are just being fed spin and BS by Sisu.

The reality is Robo they aren't anywhere near the beginning of building a new ground. It's ludicrous to have done what they have done to the club before they had the land in place.

Unless of course they really have a different plan? Wonder what that is? Distress ACL?

So the team are at Sixfields and there are no real plans for a new stadium. The few will be mad.

What next for Sisu?
I bet they will get lynched at the next home game.

Also the FL will be phoning them this afternoon, won't they ?
