Hello,

I read about the planned boycott today. I will not be attending Northampton.

A couple of fellow fans will be present, but will be joining you on the hill.

Regards,

Football is a community. Whether its location, name or club colours, tradition is tradition.

I agree football is community!! That's the thing that annoys me the most about all this - Hi usskyblue - you think oafc is wrong I take it?

There's no right or wrong.

...only a forum full of people telling each other that there is.

Go support your team or don't.

You choose.

Football is a community and it is good that fellow fans make a stand against what is wrong which is why I was so pleased to see none of our fans funded the franchise club mk dons!

You seem very aggressive and after confrontation all the time - don't quite understand that but hey - who am I?

This is a thread started by our opponents today saying that they are not going to Sixfields out of support to supporters of CCFC

Worth debating or not?

Of course, if people are willing to travel to not go in to support the cause then it is a great gesture. Northampton fans were posting on here about arranging action too.

Sorry I should have quoted usskyblue rather than you Nick - Yours was a low blow but absolutely accurate. The only game I have seen this season is MK Dons and it was great to watch our team play. AFC Wimbledon also attended their away game there and that was in my mind when I went but I struggled when I thought about the money we gave them.

Life is rarely black and white

Grow a pair.

Imagine a forum where everyone respected each other's decision to go or not to go....

Be a bit nicer (granted, more boring too, but nicer) wouldn't it?

Instead, we have no mark, keyboard warrior, 40 something's that still live with their mothers (and their spotty foul mouthed, track suit wearing sons) giving it the biggun to anyone who doesn't think SISU are solely to blame for everything, including the assassination of JFK.

Very rarely usskyblue

I can see that there is more that the CCC/ACL can do to enable Coventry to play in the City of their name. I can't see how anyone can defend the decision to take the team to play their home games 34 miles away at someone else's ground and neither can 93% of the rest of our support.

In any case this thread was about Oldham fans boycotting the game and I was interested in why.

I am in my 40's living with my wife and 3 kids so don't fit the pen pic you state and everyone knows the FBI were behind the JFK assassination!

They took us out of Coventry that's enough for me. Nothing else matters.

Couldn't even be bothered to stay at the Ricoh while they build a new stadium. Would sooner take a loss of money and fans.

That's why people protest.

You seemed to be suggesting that everyone on SBT gives it the big gun to anyone who doesn't think SISU are solely to blame for everything. Sorry I thought you were implying that's what I was doing to you.

On another note please show me where I said you did defend SISU?

Fūckmesideways...

I'm not defending them. I'm making them as culpable as every party involved.

I said I can't see how anyone can defend the decision to use another team's home ground for our matches. You are so ingrained in your hatred of anyone who doesn't see things exactly how you do that you don't read the comments properly.

SISU took us out of Coventry - could ACL/CCC have done more to keep them here - yes of course they could but me and most others think this one decision was and is indefensible but you seemingly think that what is more important is to share the blame around.

You're all over the place m8.

You start by blaming SISU, then agree the blame should be shared, then have a pop at me for saying the blame should be shared.

I feel a bit dizzy..

I have nothing to come back as you don't seem to have read things at all - maybe that is the tactic.

No pop at you for anything other than being aggressive.

I asked how anyone could defend the decision to take Coventry City out of Coventry and you said show me where you have defended SISU.

I think sir that it is you who are all over the place

I blame SISU for taking the home games out of Coventry 100%. I think that ACL/CCC could have done more to stop it but they are not the ones who have taken the decision to move the home ground for up to 5 years.

I am not physically supporting our team at Sixfields as it is all I have left to make my protest.

I don't know you well enough to know if you are from USA or not but if you are there is no point asking what you would do.

I would not have a go at fellow supporters (as that's what we all are) making decisions that 'suit' them but with friends I would encourage them to withdraw their support from home games at Sixfields as the end scenario of moving to Northampton is the end of our football club.

What do you think is the end scenario here my friend? No CCFC is all I can see at the moment and that makes me sad

In any case - this thread is about an Oldham fan feeling so moved that he is travelling to Northampton to show camaraderie with us CCFC supporters in our current situation. I asked him why and you jumped in with your size 24's

I lived in Chadderton for a few years...had the early Joe Royle years. Irwin, Marshall, Milligan, Palmer, Ritchie, Bunn...I won't go on, a great side.

I have a real soft spot for Oldham, fans have a great sense of humour, similar to Cov fans self depreciating.

I predicted you would win 1-0, currently 1-1?????

Can anyone defend the owner's decision to take the club out of the city that bears its name?

I very much doubt anybody would rather be at Sixfields than in Coventry other than a WUM.

How can I answer for 'anyone'?

For me, yes. The current ownership want to own their own stadium.

Due to the actions of three parties, we arrived at a situation whereby one (the owners) either folded, stayed in a toxic situation or took drastic action.

I don't condone the action of all three parties involved. They are all culpable for our situation as it stands.
