OK, so it seems to me that quite a bit has changed in a very short time. Here's what I have noticed...

- Webster has been ditched, TM even highlighted how his lack of pace forces our back line deeper, which isn't a good thing
- Burge, despite concedeing two free kicks looks more confident and is improving each game
- The shackles seem to have come off Fleck and Barton, who are now allowed to get ahead of the ball and make runs, the teams movement off the ball in general has also improved significantly
- the tempo of our play in possession has gone up dramatically
- We are using the whole width of the pitch in possession and frequently switch the ball from one flank to the other to stretch the opposition
- The camaraderie amongst the players seems (again) like the shackles are off, they look like they are really enjoying playing and are allowed to show emotion and have fun (in particular Nouble, Samuel, Odelusi, Turgott & Willis seem close)

What are everyone else's observations from games since TM came in/SP left???

It's concerning he is only signed up until the end of the season. If he stays in charge then you'd have to imagine that we could finally put together a promotion push.

The width is the biggest thing. So many crosses now even though they are crap crosses we keep putting the ball in the mixer again and again.

The ball does go from wing to wing and fairly quickly. Full use of the pitch and it's looks great.

Fleetwood were never in the game last night and we fully deserved the win. That performance last night wouldn't of happened under SP. The result also.

Gets more from the players also. Look at tudgay and nouble two good players actually wanting to play now. Tudgay couldn't leave ccfc fast enough under SP now he starts every game.

Also the way TM keeps changing players during the game. Nouble and Barton and tudgay and Samuel all changing probaly 4 times in each half. I like that as it shows creation and confusion for this defence.

So did I. I managed to get the silent treatment all night. And a win on top of that. What a brilliant night

im really looking forward to seeing ryan haynes play now. i think the current style of play will really suit his game and allow him to get in behind his opposing fullback

That would put thorn on about the same level as a pond dweller with learning difficulties. Can't agree... Pressley is a well meaning footy enthusiast who aspires to be a manager but is never ever going to be one.

To be fair to SP, he needs experience. Should have been a number 2 somewhere to grasp tactics etc. the 6pts we just achieved would never have been under him.

To be fair, he is already No.2 and needs experience doing something other than football management.

Whilst I'm still not convinced about the SP saga, things move on. I agree with your points. Always have held Mowbray in a decent regard, he beat us everytime with WBA and at Middlesborough kept the gentleman's agreement not to play Juke, as SISU had forgot to put that clause in..

I agree, the team seems to have picked up a bit more of a positive ethos. Burge has come on a good bit with a few games under his hat and Fleck and Barton are more positive looking forwards rather than sideways and backwards.

* regarding width I agree. My personal preference but I believe thoroughly in width and wingers- something I believe that Mowbray endorses. Pressley was obviously completely the opposite with his 3-5-2 (5 defenders, 3 CMs and 2 strikers)

Good squad + poor manager = Poor performances and poor results
Good squad + good manager = Good performances and good results

Funny at times how simple the game can be.

As much as I appreciate Pressley's passion and love for the club, his decisions to replace players because they didn't fit his style and then change his style leaving us needing the type of player he let walk away for free did frustrate me no end. I like the guy, but in the end he had to be replaced for the sake of the club despite overseeing the most difficult period as a manager in our history. He released McDonald for free because he wanted to play one up front before changing to playing two up top. And he's gone on to score 14 this year for an average Gillingham side. And letting Baker go appears to have been a massive mistake, I think Mowbray could've really got the best out of him. He appeared to copy whatever a successful manager in Europe was doing. I recall him referring to Dortmund when he started to play 2 up front and he tried to go 3-5-2 after Van Gaal had success with it in the world cup but he seems to forget we haven't got world class players and he didn't play the situation we were in.

I've only seen two Mowbray games so far but what I would say is there is a genuine urgency to try and get the ball forward with quick, crisp passing that was overlooked for keeping possession deep in our own half before either giving it away or losing it further up field. Fleck looks more creative but my concern is the performance last night in terms of good positive passing and switching of the play will be difficult on our shite playing surface. Jesus, how ironic would it be if we got relegated off after our home form let us down for that reason after all we wanted was to be back at the Ricoh.

To me TM has confirmed that a good manager can get the best out of the players he's got.

I'm ten times better as a manager than Andy Thorn, I think we all are. But Stephen is not a good manager, he's about average or maybe just below.

His next job will no doubt be lower league or back way up north.
