Granted he might not be used to a "Modern coaching set up" with more staff than players in the dugout, and their Ipads and matching tracksuits, but his record speaks for itself over the course. He knows more about the club and what works best more than DKStill, 3rd season in a row we've started poorly and I get the impression he's not suited to a modern coaching setup. People on here implying Doug's been digging Robins grave.
Shows how much attention you should pay to the majority i suppose.Thorn was 100% the fans' choice.
Why are you excluding the achievement of the FA Cup run? He's had time to turn it around, more than other managers would get that's for sure.
Without FA Cup SF the season wouldn't have been good enough and this season's it's been poor. He built it up alongside the club to aim for top six and promotion this season and we aren't close.
Whether you like it or not it's the right call, Since the FA Cup SF we've won four league games. It's not good enough for the squad here, it was time.
I'm also not sadistic, I'm a realist.
Yea but what if it wasn'tWhy are you excluding the achievement of the FA Cup run?
It's nuts to say without the FA Cup, the season wouldn't have been good enough, when the FA Cup run was part of our season..
Robins pretty much dragged us up. Like a single mum on welfare. There's a reason people feel like they've lost a family member. DK has undone all of the goodwill he earned by apparently ousting SISU.There is a First World War General about I know whom quite a lot (sad, I know) called William Robertson, who coined the phrase 'War is a one man show'. Football is the same and Robins was our 'one man'. I think SISU had come to understand that, now we have to have King working his way up the learning curve to reach the same conclusion
the key phrase there is 'new structure', in my (long) experience structural change is hugely over rated as a vehicle for improvement, but politicians, management consultants and new owners love it. Looks 'busy'.Yep.. DK jumped the gunfool!!
If you going to make such a big decision like sacking your manager that has been with us loyally for a long time... At least have someone in line to take over instead of taking your bloody time to appoint a successor... That time we spend looking could have been enough for MR to turn it around.
I see us back to the old days of them bloody revolving doors.
No it's not is it but I'm not advocating sacking one of our greatest managers after a slow 14 game start to the season 7 points off the playoffs .
I think it's a terrible decision and he deserves more time
You are seemingly happy with it which begs the question how long you will give a manager that's new
Shit number of syllables for a manager name. What can you even chant?
I'm gutted for him personally. The Robins out gang you've got what you wanted, I expect we'll win every game between now and the end of the season.
I'm sorry if you don't believe there was just cause, but results weren't good enough this calendar year, that's the root cause of it.
Does he deserve more time, not for me to say, but the owner has pulled the trigger he obviously feels he can make an appointment to get us out of this situation - good luck to him on that.
Happy, no. I wanted it to work out but I saw that it wasn't going to. Sometimes a change is needed and in this instance I feel it is needed.
I've been on my WhatsApp group with my Cov mates today . Even the few who were murmuring about Robins future on it over the past few weeks are genuinely gutted by this news .
As I would hope every Coventry fan would be today
Nobody has died.
most of our support isn't morally bankrupt

So it's happened , how do you assess the robins era after all ?Given his misogyny comment I think his dignity has
I think many of our fans that would sack a manager like this in this way after so much success have the morals of a fart. Are you seriously saying that to understand the decision to make a change means you're morally bankrupt?
Robins kept the sisu model working. When robins decided to leave on his own accord we would be up shit creek as we were reliant on him.Under SISU latterly robins was top dog, with his team and a low key commercial manager, and it worked, or so it seemed.
King has brought in more modern concepts and a broader management team, less Robins' "one man show"
But whose to not say that shitty SISU after years of cocking it up had actually got it right?
I think Christmas would have been a fair amount of time while still giving a replacement a transfer window and about half the season to work with.Do you just keep on HOPING things will change ? Results and performances have not been good to say the least since the turn of the year.People quote Luton and Boro games (achieved against 10 men) they seem to forget the dross served up in most other games.
The buck stops with the manager
Of course, but Sakamoto is twice the player.Allen has done more for the club than MVE and Sakamoto
Why are you excluding the achievement of the FA Cup run?

And you would too had it been any club but ours
I disagree , I don't know many that do agree tbh
The club obviously monitors social media, and the constant shouty calls by a minority on here for Robins to go could easily have been misinterpreted as a groundswell of feeling among the fanbase.
Cheers guys.
You started the day by predicting us as relegation candidates - that kind of post never helps the cause of the manager. So those words feel kind of hollow.
Yeah I’ve mentioned it a few times and my hunch is it’s part of the issue.
