My main concern is, if he was born in London, will he be able to speak English.
And we have the potential for a transfer bomb. According to Sportbladet, Coventry City has chosen Hammarby IF goalkeeper Oliver Dovin as its main transfer target
The Swede was born in London and is one of the most talented goalkeepers in the country. Valued at EUR 2.5 million.

He likely wont want to move on because no one will offer him a 3 year deal on the money we’re paying.
To terminate we’d have to reach an agreement with him, which would involve paying him money.
Let’s say he’s on 10k a week, 10000*52*3 =£1.5m. We’d probably have to pay him a million quid at least to leave.
Pipe dream but Kuryu Matsuki got left out of japans Olympic squad as a transfer is imminent…We will undoubtedly be signing one and spending big if the Stamenic debacle was something to go off of. Probably recalibrating targets or working out a deal with a secondary target. Not worried one bit.

And have to pay for another left backs wages on top. Never going to happenYeah I did wonder if that would be the case, I assume he’s here for the long run then, going to take our money for 4 years and not offer much in return. I’d be tempted with offering 750K cancellation agreement tbh, see if that tempts him, okay we’ve straight up lost 750K but we’d at least have a spot free for a quality LB and have saved half of his wages rather than it drag on for 4 years
Oh yeah it’s never going to happen because it’s not usually a done thing, but personally if we’re saving half the cash on his wages and the new LB means we’re a stronger team then I’d probably take the risk. That LB spot could be the difference between staying down and going up, you never knowAnd have to pay for another left backs wages on top. Never going to happen
Matt Grimes would be my choice …. Sits in front of back four .:. Good passer…roven at Championship level …
Grimes and Sheaf would protect the back four more and give a good base for the 2 wide players and Rudoni / Torp to play from ….
Sorry but I really don’t think Lati is a huge defensive liability at RB. I think probably it’s the getting forward he’s not proficient at.Again you’re just thinking of the starting 11. MVE really struggled playing every week as did Bidwell. Beyond them you’ve got huge defensive liabilities in Dasilva and Lati.
The new lad Sandford signed yesterday is a RB and a promising prospect. Lets see how he developsSorry but I really don’t think Lati is a huge defensive liability at RB. I think probably it’s the getting forward he’s not proficient at.
I’m slightly confused by the regular criticism of him. He’s fine…and was apparently playing through an injury.

I think he’s approaching the last year of his contract but I maybe wrong on that …Just for those that say I never rate British players, Grimes is one of the few that makes sense to me, particularly for our 4-2-3-1 or if we ever played 4-4-2. Got a decent shot on him at times, good tackler, strong player all round and is hard to play against.
The two big concerns are his price and whether Doug is interested in buying players that have little sell-on value. According to transfermarket he’s €7 mil, which is ridiculous tbh, if we could get him for around £3 mil then fair enough but not at approximately £6 mil. Also he’ll be 30-31 by the end of the contract (depending on the length of the contract), he’s not going to be worth much at all after that, so although we need experience it’s whether Doug wants to buy that sort of player? Though with his experience, I do think he’d be an upgrade on Eccles, or at least a backup for Sheaf?
He's under contract to 2027, he signed an extension last year.I think he’s approaching the last year of his contract but I maybe wrong on that …
Would probably cost several million tooHe's under contract to 2027, he signed an extension last year.
Far more than anyone would want to pay for a player of his age.Would probably cost several million too
I think they're usually in the latter stages of the process when this kind of thing happensHate when these things are leaked, makes it more likely people will beat us to it
Preferred it when we just logged on and saw we’d signed someone
Just watched the clip posted of him, looks class and would be an excellent signing, Japan have alot of talent, alot of technically gifted playersPipe dream but Kuryu Matsuki got left out of japans Olympic squad as a transfer is imminent…
He’s Japan’s hottest prospect, a ‘wonder kid’, apparently.
Looks a top player and there would no doubt be commercial benefits for the club too.
Who is going to match his contract though?Or you could just offer him to the market as a free transfer

But I think that deficiency at goalkeeper cost us a fair few points last season and could again, so is a vital area we need to upgrade.Again you’re just thinking of the starting 11. 2.5m EUR sounds dirt cheap for an international goalkeeper at his age in the market as it is now.
I'm not complaining but he seems like the sort of player that would be 5m plus.
Swedish league players never command big fees. Their record outgoing is only €10m.2.5m EUR sounds dirt cheap for an international goalkeeper at his age in the market as it is now.

Wouldn’t hold your breath on this one, even if we have Tats as leverage. If anyone can, Doug can pull it off. We also have Tats for companionship

Doubt he would give up the guaranteed salary.1) he might want to play and the thought of playing rather than not being wanted on a bench might sound more appealing even if only offered shorter length contract
2) we could loan him out
3) if another club lets say in league one was prepared to take him we could bridge the gap between wage discrepancy

That's because he has a false arm and they're not letting on until the money hits their account.2.5m EUR sounds dirt cheap for an international goalkeeper at his age in the market as it is now.

I wondered this too. Wilson has shown he's fine with competing to be first choice, maybe Collins isn't.Maybe we’re going to shift Collins instead
