Read a while ago in one of Jim Brown's books about plans for a huge new spion kop stand shortly after we won promotion to the then 1st division.
If I remember correctly it would hold 28,000, of which 10,000 would be seated. I can't understand how on earth it would have held so many, despite the majority of it being terraced, with the limited depth due to the proximity of Swan Lane. The book gives an artists impression of the ouside of the stand from Swan Lane itself, but I was wandering if anyone out there has been privy to any more detailed plans for this monster development that never was.
It would have taken the capacity of the ground to well in excess of 60,000 .
