Not all this again. No it isn't time to downsize. It's time we produced some decent football and start filling the stadium!!

Our crowds arent that bad considering what we've had to endure on and off the pitch for god knows how long

It's quite simple start winning games, move up the table, challenge for promotion, and hey presto a nearly full ground !

I agree. I don't think we should downsize either. Just read it and though it was interesting.

And as we are only get a couple of hundred away fans because of the poor opposition we are playing against.
All adds up shame they dont all have our away support.

If the percentages were taken when we were playing at Sixfields I could understand.

Our grounds not too big for us, we just need to get ourselves into the champions league, and offer up £150 ST's.

Too be fair not many teams did in those days could always get a ticket to any ground. A lot of them even had smaller grounds.

Football has changed massively since then and that big club Chelsea had some 8,000 attendances in the 90s and now are known as one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I think we should turn this around and say we have massive potential.

Micky Adams to Aidy Boothroyd:

'I phoned Aidy Boothroyd when he got the job, marked his card on a couple of issues and said: "If you get it right, you'll go down in history. They have had nothing to shout about."'

Come on TM make yourself a legend

We had thousands lining the streets after we won the FA Cup in 87 theres potential because our team was a winner on that day unfortunately it was tooo short lived

That short lived that we couldn't fill HR in the run up or just after the cup win either.

Early 90s when I started going to away games regularly you could just turn up at the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal and pay on the gate.

I've been in Highfield Road in the third division among crowds of thirty thousand. And been watching us play Chelsea in a crowd of 18,000 in the first division. As I wrote earlier when the team is doing well the fans turn up regularly.

I like to use Southampton as an example. Look at where they were just a few years ago - League One - same as us. They had spent 27 continuous years in the top flight, just 7 less than us, then disaster strikes and they are relegated to the Championship. A while later, they end up in League One. Now look at them. They were flying high last season. They are a similar club to ours in terms of size, history etc. If they can do it, so can we. We now have a half decent manager in Mowbray, albiet as yet, totally untested by a full season with us, but I really feel we can do this. Come on City! We can do it!!

I disagree with a few on here , i believe we are a poorly supported club , and a few instances can back that up .
mainly losing 16000 fans in 1 week after the gillingham home game.
yes we have had naff all success , but we have an extremely fickle bunch of fans .
our away support however is very good

They had a £27 million wage budget in the championship and signed a player for over £1 million when in Division One.

Besides half the people that turn up for big games or cup games do not even support coventry , they just tag along with city supporting mates

The first half a dozen posts in this thread began to fill me with some confidence. That this site is not dominated by small thinking depressive haters of their own city and club. However the usual suspects return.

We will see who hates the club when it comes to match threads and people going to matches etc and those who don't bother for various reasons.

Willing to bet there would be 25,000+ crowds if the Sky Blues sustained a run in the top 6 of this division.

Well you never know TM could single handedly overturn the f***ing SISU effect and deliver that dream.

Yes I am sure you will. At the same time I sm sure you will criticise anyone who posts just as much about the football side of things as they do about the bigger picture that is shaping the future or at times in the past the possibility of no future of their club

No question but when you hear some in here they don't see that as downsizes they have no grasp of the potential there is in this city and only see the sorry state things have become as an accepted norm
