It's not a bad line @covcity4life but it deserves spelling properly... ;)

You can see the difference when Walker came on. He makes runs, looks sharper, anticipates more, gets in position. He may not be a superstar but my God, he's light years ahead of anybody else we're playingup front.

Get him properly fit, keep him properly fit, and we've got a chance, because at least he looks like he might end up in the right area to have a shot or two!

I agree with that he looked a bloody nuisance to the Cardiff defence even though we were all but beaten when he came on we did create. The He was mobile and the Cardiff defence didn’t like it. He reds a partner though.

Tend to agree he looks by far the best option but did have the luxury of playing with Max and then Viktor. Our supply is so poor that we would need an actual Alan Shearer level player to be able to play alone up top in our side. Some not up to the level clearly but we could make a decent striker look poor on their own up front for us.

He comes good we stay up. He carries on like his form pre-injury and we go down.

I think the jury is well out on him to be honest.

I also have a suspicion lumping our hopes on him is only going to end in tears.

What’s all this “putting our hopes on him” “relying on him”.

We’re just saying he’s much better than Max.

Some of the fucking crying on here the last week. Jesus. I think I’m going to swerve the football side a bit until people pull themselves.

Agreed, our supply is poor but straight away when he came on our midfield were able to get nearer to him to support him because he could keep hold of the ball.
His movement gave our midfield something to work with, we didn't get either of those with Max prior to Walkers introduction unfortunately.

I think if a bystander came on here and read most of the posts and had no idea where we were in the league, they would say we must be in the bottom two and cut adrift. Next to no chance of survival.

We are still clear of relegation and would have snapped anyone's hand off to be where we are right now, had we known that preseason.

Not sure why Gyokeres has been bombed out though? Is he carrying a knock?
Thought he looked decent against Sheffield Wednesday but was proper knackered in his Watford sub appearance

I dont think he's been bombed out, just that Robins has reverted back to one up front and the box midfield and he isn't a target man.

Robins wasn't happy with him on his debut when he played as the lone striker, said he didnt do what he wanted him to do.

So why did we sign him? Did we not know his style of play before hand?

He's got more of a striker's instinct, he pulls the defenders about, and wants to get into the area. Service is another matter, but he at least gives the midfield an option.

Look around you man. People are looking for a saviour. Your post is misdirected.

He does drift out wide from what we've seen. But that doesn't seem to appeal to MR who berated max for pulling wide and dropped him for weeks.

You'd think an ex-striker like MR would understand about running the channels and trying to pull defenders out of position or to look for space and make the defence think a bit more.

Genuinely confused about the criticism of Walker tonight. He missed two chances, first one possibly more of a miss than the second, which he created himself with his persistence. Apart from that he harried, closed down, made good runs, was always an outlet for the midfield. Without him, there wouldn't have been chances to miss, as we saw when the reserve two came on.

And he still isn't fully match sharp.

I like him, I think he'll come good, I think he's a proper striker who looks to score. Give him a proper pre-season and we'll have the cutting edge next season.

I thought walker held up ball well today. More him and godden play better thwy will get I think. Godden celing may be lower than walkers I dunno but I want us to persist with Tyler for sure.

He's missed half the season himself with illness and injury, but doesn't seem to get the leeway for that others do...

Given a prolonged run at full fitness/sharpness I think he’ll come on and be a good player at Champ level. Same for Godden but I think injuries, coupled with age, will do for him sadly.

Good player, his season has been ruined with unfortunate injuries and covid. I think he will only improve

Godden is only 29 (30 in July). Injuries may be an issue, but if they're avoided, he's got a good couple of seasons left in him if he's up to this level (especially as pace isn't really his forte)
