MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Coventry hold a 39 wins to 32 lead over Crystal Palace from 103 competitive matches over 104 years.

• Palace beat the Sky Blues 2-1 at Selhurst Park in August, and are pursuing a first double over them in five years.

• Coventry need to score three times to total 100 home league goals against the Eagles.

Coventry City

• The Sky Blues are chasing a third win in five Championship matches, which would be good enough to lift them out of the relegation zone for the first time since mid-October, if Bristol City lose home to Leicester.

• Coventry have lost more Championship games than any other club this season (20), and have picked up 22 more points at home than on their travels; the widest disparity in the Championship.

• They are in danger of a 500th defeat in second level league football.

Crystal Palace

• Just goal difference is keeping Crystal Palace from returning to the top-half, after a six-match unbeaten sequence (W2, D4).

• Dougie Freedman's side have drawn their last three away league games.

• The Eagles have kept three consecutive clean sheets. Another will make it their longest series of shuts-outs since five on the spin on 1 November.

Lots of common staff ties in recent years too Otis; Coleman, Salako, Morrison, Shaw, Scowcroft, Borrowdale. I'm struggling now!

Eminently winnable game, certainly

Stats are interesting to read but mean absolutely nothing other than say recent form.

Palace are poor and we should turn them over at home.....but this is Coventry City.

We MUST go for the jugular from the first minute to the last. As a manager I'd insist on it. Close them down and play further up for goodness sake! Don't worry about them, do your allotted job and then some. Let them have to worry about us. Job done.
