I find it a bit weird that we've suddenly got players signing contract extensions left, right and center. The likes of Christie, Thomas, Bigirimana, Clingan, Bell And McSheffrey have all recently signed, and they are arguably some of our most sale-able assets (apart from bell of course) So is this us preparing to get relegated, and cashing in on the players, instead of the same mistake of letting them go on free's. Or anticipating administration and being able to sell them then. Or something else? Or do they genuinely want to stay at our failing club... Just seems slightly odd to me.
I'd say that it's with a view to selling them once we go down. I wouldn't be surprised if there were clauses that they can be sold when we get relegated.
Plus of course any player of value signing a new deal is no guarantee that SISU won't still sell them at the first opportunity. Turner never actually played for the club again after signing his new deal.
