Have you seen her play? Drops the (meat) balls every time so I hear.

Some people keep saying that other keepers in this league make lots of mistakes too, but I am not sure I have seen many of the enormity of Burge's abomination ones.

And on a second note, I haven't seen another keeper who kicks as badly as Burge either.

We all appreciate he can be a very good shot stopper, but there are a number of things wrong with his game and his decision making is very poor at times and with that and his defective distribution that just compounds the issue.

First point. Watch West Ham v Man City yesterday
It’s become expected. Mostly his kicking is fine.
Every decision is highlighted as mistakes often lead to goals.
It’s fine he’ll have a long professional career and fair play to him. If we go up I don’t think he’ll be number 1 but I’d not be surprised at all if league 1 clubs sign him on a free

Have a look at Mcnultys goals in the post a couple down from here. Some great goals sure but you'll also send at least 4-5 where the keeper should do a lot better. Burge would have saved some of those but shot stopping us one of his greater attributes far ahead of his catching or distribution. If he can punch more often and go for some quick throws to counter rather than kicking then I think we wouldn't be having these posts and hopefully that could be coached it him.

The Burge bashing is starting to get a bit weird now. He's nowhere near as bad as a lot of you make out. It seems to be a Cov thing to have a pop at keepers, I remember Joe Murphy and even Westwood at some times getting dogs abuse. We're a L2 team, we have a good keeper for L2, hence the accolades that have come his way this season. Why must we always have a boo boy to constantly bring up every single game? I mean a "4" is just obscene and quite clearly a personal vendetta.

Weird thing is is that people will accept that he is reasonable at L2 level. So why oh why did we persist with him in the League above for 3-4 years when people say he is a L2 keeper!:banghead:

Hmm, not so sure. Surely it's all down to whether as an individual you rate him or not. I rated both Westwood and Murphy and so didn't give them any 'abuse.'

I don't rate Burge, but don't give him abuse, but rightly point out his frailties.

All keepers make mistakes and I fully accept that. Some of Burge's though have been absolute horrors and it's not just that.
Said it before, but, it's also....

1. His distribution
2. His lack of command of his area
3. His nervousness

RCC was the opposite and was too over confident.

A lot of aspects to a keeper's game and Burge falls down on a few things. It's not just about saves and mistakes.

To some to as black and white as shot stopping and clean sheets that make him a “good keeper” tho there is 4 other keepers with a better clean sheet percentage and clean sheets.

Even Grimsby’s James McKeown is only 1 clean sheet behind his total and so is Barry Roche of Morecambe.

I have never said much about Burge before but the final straw for me came when he stood there shit scared as Lincoln scored their 4th, I felt sooooo pissed off with him at that minute much more than I have ever felt with him before, we all have our likes and dislikes and my dislike is that disaster stricken idiot in goal, people on here have been saying it for a few seasons we cannot all be wrong!
I think now that there isn't so much team building to be done next season hopefully we will have a new keeper in place, I know all keepers make mistakes but he is making them almost every game now undoing the good work the rest of the team are doing. Thats my final say on him!
