Overall the first half performance was pitiful with us being beaten to the ball, losing 50:50's, not able to pass to a Sky Blue shirt more that 10 yards away, too many over ambitious passes attempted and inevitably wasted, not enough industry or tracking back. Second half was a bit better but having scored we sat back deeper and deeper and when the winner came it didn't really surprise anyone. Put simply Preston wanted it more than we did.
Westwood: 6 - Did OK, distribution was still suspect. Commanded box better and couldn't do much about either goal
Clarke: 6 - OK but too often left exposed with no one tracking the overlapping fullback. Still too lightweight but at least tried to get forward and show some energy.
Hussey: 5 - offered little going forward and again like Clarke was often exposed to overlapping full back. Was to blame for giving corner away that lead to winner as wasn't positive enough with clearance.
Keogh - 6 - did OK but still looks like a full back imitating a centre back. Simply not strong enough and suspect positionally.
Wood - 6 - lost too much in the air and never looked comfortable all afternoon
McSheffery - 4 - Lazy beyond words - offered nothing all game. Never tracked back, never attacked their full back, when Westwood was looking to release quickly made sure he tracked with their defender so as there was no danger of getting the ball.
Gunnarson - 5 - Poor performance, couldn't pass, tackling was weak, too often tried the fancy pass when simpler more effective option was available.
Clingan - 5 - See Gunnarson
Baker - 5 - ran around, tried to make things happen but failed miserably. Too easily knocked off the ball.
Eastwood - 4 - Like McSheffrey lazy beyond words and a disgrace to the shirt - hate to see talented players taking the piss out of supporters who have shelled out money and wasted their time supporting players who patently cannot be bothered
Jutkiewicz - 6 - worked his socks off but received no support from McSheff or Freddy so was constantly isolated and battling with 2 or 3 defenders and by the time support arrived he had lost it. Fighting a lost cause.
The Management - 6 - Made some player changes but the 4-3-3 was leaving the inexperienced full backs exposed time and again and this was never really addressed.
At least the weather was OK and had some fun in Blackpool on Sat night as City were as depressingly pathetic and sliding further into trouble.
