I've really enjoyed watching us this season and we've looked exceptional and exciting at times playing 4-3-3. I'm sure we'll see 4-3-3 again and the system has many advantages (mainly possession and control of midfield).

The problem with the 4-3-3 system for our team is that with Jobello injured, Hiwula out of form and Jones yet to return - we don't really have the players to ideally fit into a front 3. Godden has also been left isolated in this system.

On the other hand, 3-5-2 is a system that fits the players we have available quite nicely. McFaz in a back 3 providing leadership. Dabo and McCallum have the right qualities to be decent wing backs. O'Hare can play in his favoured attacking midfield position and be more involved. Biamou could be an ideal strike partner for Godden in a 3-5-2.

In any midfield 3, I would say that Kelly and O'Hare have to start. Leaves Walsh/Westbrooke/Shipley/Allen battling for the third midfield spot. You could make a decent case for any of those players to play. In a 3-5-2, I also think Shipley could play as a left wing back.

Quick mention for Baka tonight - took his goal very well. It was a difficult chance in my view. Looks deadly at times when given a half chance; Doncaster a great example of that.

Going to be interesting to see a few different formations this season - ideally the system should fit the players we have available.

We need to play to the personnel we have available. We have good options in centre mid so having a 532 with Kelly, Westbrooke/shipley/Walsh and Ohare it will put Ohare in his most effective position in my opinion.

Dabo and Mccallum/mason then have the freedom to provide the width which to be fair especially since Jobello got Injued, it is only ever our fullbacks who cross the ball anyway, as our wingers always drift inside.

Biamou looked so determined and held the ball showed some power, hes his touch let him down but think lack of games and match sharpness contributed to that, but importantly won headers and meant Baka wasn't totally isolated. I could see Godden scoring goals in this formation with someone along side him.

I like 433 and we have played some great football but as others have said, right now we don't have the right players ready.

I would like to see the team that finished last night start on saturday.

I thought Max demonstrated to Baka the bullet how he should be using his physical attributes by being a pain to the centre halves, McVaseline looked a little suspect for the 1st 15 mins but settled down nicely and got a few good blocks in, Marosi pulled off a few very good saves to keep us in it but special mention for Liam Kelly who links up play great perhaps he still had a little after effects from his knock and Robins has managed him well who knows! Great 3 points which after the first half looked destined to be heading back up the M6

I just cant for the life of me see why Bakayoko has got so many scores of 7 on here, unless people have added 6 on for his goal.
He was complete garbage.

Bakayoko, like many strikers at this level, seems better when he doesn't have time to think about what he's going to do. Was a good finish.

He looked better second half for me with a strike partner. Don't think he's suited to the lone striker role (don't think any of our strikers are). He'd still be the one to drop out for me when Godden returns.

He scored so that elevates his score by 3 - the guy who gave him 5.5 was spot on in his summary

Some guy next to me said he’s been told that Bakayoko has been told he’s not getting a new deal and can go in January

Hiwula needs to be rest and so does - controversially maybe - Shipley. He's been pretty poor for a while now and hardly ever completes a pass to his own team mates, I'd bench him too. Walsh was pretty average last night too.

The problem is in the case of Hiwula we have few options

regardless of anyone’s opinion Biamou isn’t fit to start a game - he was struggling to move - he’d just be injured again.

You're probably right, he's coming back off a serious injury and should still be considered recovery stage.

What exactly did he do so wrong? Was fairly anonymous first half due to system and no service. A lot better second half.

He’s just never in the game. You can blame that on service but I would be fairly confident that Biamous number of touches would be higher than Baka’s last night. That said, he scored and it was a great finish. When Godden has quiet games and scores people say “strikers are there to score goals” so same rule should apply for Baka to be fair.

You could say the same about Godden recently as well in the same formation, very much isolated.

Biamou has been the same when he has come on up front on his own.

Completely disagree, not good enough imo. Anonymous most games and too lightweight. At least Walsh picks the odd good pass, Westbrooke can’t even do that. I don’t even know what his attributes are.

Doesn’t Westbrook’s have the most assists this season? May be wrong, but I think he is up there.

He just offers absolutely nothing for the team.
Every centre forward we play gets isolated and suffers from a lack of service and is often double marked, but Godden (for example) still offers a threat, and works the channels, fights for the ball and can hold it up and lay it off, Godden can also manage to get his feet off the ground when jumping, and manages to be aggresive and use his body strength.
Biamou can also offer what Godden can, but is less of a goal threat (Imho) while Bakayoko offers none of the above. The fact that he buried a rebound last night should not detract from the fact that he is way out of his depth.

And he isn't starting games, he came on at half-time and, like it or not, changed the game completely.

I think having two strikers makes all the difference.
Was watching McNultys goal the other day. A large percentage were scored when another striker was also in the box, whether Max or JCH.

Max was in the box when Baka scored last night. It makes all the difference to how the opposition defend just having that presence there.

I think we need to keep two up top and if Goddens out then it's essential because I don't think we'll get much from the other two playing either one of them on their own.
