Dabo and hamer only ones to get any credit. Hamer is trying too much every time because he's midfield and our only goal threat.

Dabo ended up trying to do too much too.

Hyam shocker
Sheaf thrown under the bus but we stopped attacking when he went off
Godden anonymous

Robins - throwing Shipley on at 2-0 down. Does he see something different in training?

Load of dog shit.

Frustrating, preston looked the worst team we have played. Without Kelly the mistakes have crept back in. Dabo the only one who had a good game I thought. Subs were needed but all were dreadful (except mccallum).

Really frustrating game. Actually looked okay bar two awful mistakes.
Wilson has looked like gifting them a goal for too long his luck was gonna run out.
Dabo was very decent
Back three were decent bar the mix up for the goal.
Giles was poor and I wanted to see him back in
Sheaf actually played well but another costly mistake cost us a goal
Hamer obvious quality but wasn’t at his best tonight
O’Hare. I don’t blame him as we have no other options, but he’s so like Luke Thomas. Watch him a few times and think he’s quality, watch him every week and you realise no end product.
Godden not at the races

Shipley & Biamou. Definitely in trouble if that’s our attacking options off the bench.

As Nick said we looked worse with the ball when Sheaf went off

Worst game Hyam has had for a long time. Must be into double fugures the amount of times Sheaf has dropped us in it facing his own goal. To state the obvious though the biggest problem is creating anything. Struggling to remember the last time O'Hare created a chance let alone a goal. Wastes so much of the ball and has my blood boiling about five times in every game in recent weeks.

Wilson - 5 - bit dodgy today mate, sorry.

Giles - 5 - far too quiet, lovely heavy touch to help them create something.

Hyam - 4 - partially at fault for both goals, bit shite today.

McFadz - 6 - okay.

Osti - 6 - okay, some nice forays into midfield.

Dabo - 7 - back to his best.

Sheaf - 6 - obviously let's pretend we didn't see their goal because apart from all that, had a good first half. Head wasn't in it second half.

Hamer - 6.5 - better first half. Not as good second half, but still looked one of the more likely to make things happen, you know, like score or assist one of those things they call "goals". Trying to do too much on his own.

Allen - 5 - Tidy crisp little passes in approach play. Then tries to pass the ball in the penalty area. Could have had 6 shots. Had one and it was the hardest one to take.

O Hare - 6 - Final ball lacking today (and a lot of days) but when he went off, if you didn't notice, you're mad.

Godden - 5 - Fairly anonymous, largely not his fault. A couple of poor passes, but largely when under immense pressure trying to play lots of passes in the penalty area.

Shipley - 5 - 2 fouls, one touch?

Biamou - 5 - Didn't make us look anymore threatening. Tried one shot.

Bapaga - 5 - some nice touches and youthful exuberance. Some youthful football intelligence (to be expected).

McCallum - 6 - important defensive block and a couple of okay crosses

Robins - 5 - subs made us look not as good. I know that's largely not his fault, but also, that's not what's meant to happen.

Wilson 4 (not good enough, the Sheffield error was enough for me, we've not conceded much of late but nearly every one has involved him)
Dabo 7
Hyam 4 (both goals)
Mcfadz 6
Ostigard 6
Sheaf 5 (point off for the goal but only an idiot can't see what he adds and what we missed when he went off)
Hamer 6
Allen 6 (got into some good positions execution poor)
O'Hare 6 (similar to Allen, can't understand his withdrawal but suppose somebody needed to go)
Godden 5 (no service whatsoever, don't think he's fit in any case)
Giles 5.5 (weak defensively but didn't do too much wrong)

Subs
Biamou 5 (he isn't good enough, wins so little in the air, doesn't make defenders worry)
Shipley 4 (a step too far for him)
Bapaga 4 (not really sure why we didn't try to get him running on to knock downs instead of trying to play in front of Preston)
Mccallum 6

Robins 6 (first half we played well and he didn't come from the draw, can't be blamed for the two calamities. The worry is it's hard to see any green shoots as we don't look like scoring at all)

hamer was dreadful
No he wasn't. He and Dabo were a class above the rest but they can't do it all on their own. McFadzean and Ostigard were OK too.

I thought Allen was poor and we saw why McCallum has been favoured over Giles.

Dabo 7.5 MOM the only one who looked like creating anything or even believing that he could
Hyam 4.5 Clown with at least partial fault for both comical goals
McF 5.5
Osti 6
Giles 5.5 looked worse for having been left out of games for a month
Sheaf 5.5 shares blame for one of two garbage goals
Hamer 5.5 the only one who bothered shooting but his passing was miles off
Allen 5.5 infuriating decision making in the final third
O'Hare 5 misplaced passes all over the place and same issue as Allen when near the box
Godden 5 did bugger all and cocked up what little he was involved in, very disappointing

Subs
Shipley 4 looks more off the pace than ever and his attitude stank
McCallum 6 vaguely looked like he gave a shit
Bapaga 5.5 looks like he has pace to burn, would like to see more when his colleagues haven't given up on the game
Biamou 5

Robins 5.5, hamstrung (pun intended) by the limits of this injury hit squad but for feck's sake tell the players to be brave and shoot when they have sight of goal. Go to Joy and demand the funds to cover Kelly and Walker's injuries, especially the former who is out for months and such a key player.

This is probably about right but I'd drop Wilson down one because the defence is starting to look like they don't have confidence in him and its affecting their play.

Tonight was a giant showcase of our squad deficiencies. Our defense is not good enough or quick enough at moving the ball at the back so we can never build the play long enough to consistently get bodies around the box and when we do it's because Hamer has made a 70 yard run.

Wilson is rapidly unravelling,
Hyam's passing is so slow and he can't carry the ball forwards
Hamer is on a different wavelength most of the time which can be both brilliant and terrible
Sheaf's still young and occasionally naive
Godden just a bit too slow to play the lone striker against a back 3.
Biamou too static and looks unsure what his role is whenever he comes on as 2nd striker
O'Hare is a rabbit in the headlights when given time to think
Allen is a decent footballer in a decent footballing team with players around him, which we are not at this level.

Also think Robins needs to pick his battles better. No idea why he decided tonight was a game to attack away from home when we've played for draws at home against similar teams.

MiIlwall will be Birmingham mark 2, back to 10 men behind the ball and an isolated striker to get a point and try and start over with some unbeaten games.

Wilson....5...Didn’t have a save to make. Partially at fault for both goals imo.
Giles........5....Not a left wing back.
Ostigard...6..
McFadz.....6
Hyam........5.....Poor game.
Dabo.........8.....Motm. Class.
Allen.........6.....Linked up well
Sheaf........5.5..Bad mistake...can see what he brings.
O’Hare......6.....When’s it gonna click for him, does everything up to final ball/shot.
Hamer......7.....Trying to do too much. Class above, only player looks capable or wants to score.
Godden....5.5...Did ok first half. 2nd half didn’t touch the ball.

Biamou....5....No impact today.
Shipley.....4....Not a footballer.

Haven’t been this frustrated since losing 2nil at Cambridge away 3 years ago.

Preston are absolute shite. All things being equal we should batter them at home.

I do question Robins' subs, no impact whatsoever

As I said earlier, it takes Hyam 5 or 6 touches before he finds the left wing back, by which time they're usually pinned to the touchline looking backwards rather than running on. As soon as he's facing one direction that's it, it's obvious what is going to happen.
Suggested before using Mccallum as a third centre back, that might help a bit, his body position receiving the ball is more natural to moving forward (not that his distribution is necessarily brilliant)

PNE were poor and we did so much right first half but unravelled by carelessness and poor decision making.

Wilson 5 (poor distribution and surely he could have been braver for 2nd goal)
Dabo 9 (motm. totally the best player on the pitch. Skill, pace, endeavour)
Giles 5 (poor touch, absent defensively at times and little going forward)
Ostigard 7 (didn't do much wrong. The one willing to come out from the back 3 to give another option)
McFadzean 7 (some important interceptions but some sloppy passing)
Hyam 6 (hospital passes and too slow moving the ball)
Sheaf 5 (how many times does he get robbed in dangerous areas. Paid the price today)
Hamer 8 (one step ahead of most of his teammates with decision making. Only one of 2 who looks like he is playing with confidence and self-belief - Dabo the other)
Allen 7 (really good first half. First touch was exceptional and looking likely to create. Should have pulled the trigger on occasions rather than look to set up. Poor play lead to free-kick for 2nd goal)
O'Hare 5 (he had so much of the ball and nearly every time his execution or decision making was poor. Only thing he was good at was winning free-kicks)
Godden 6 (linked up well early on but looked to lack the sharpness)

Biamou 6 (front 2 were given little when formation changed. One effort blocked)
Shipley 4 (in the time he was on the pitch he gave away free-kicks)
Bapaga 6 ( didn't get much of the ball but looked lively)
McCallum 7 (caused more problems going forward and great block in penalty area)

We so badly need a left footed Dabo and a left footed Østigård

We can’t afford to buy those. Cost millions.

Yes Hyam didn’t have his best game today. But he is a good no nonsense defender. Who’s strength is old fashioned defending. Not the best going forward.

Problem we have no other option as Rose is right footed.
