I'd say that's as much trying to keep his confidence up. Dabo had started OK, but before he went off he started making a few basic errors, and it does seem his confidence is a bit brittle atm.
It's probably a fitness thing too. He's not started since the stoke game, and we know he takes a few games to get back into form after coming back from injury.
I thought we looked better with him on the right up until his mistake. Positionally he is better, and we looked more confident playing out of tight spaces on the occasions we were being pressed in our own half. It sounds trivial but his decision making and speed when taking throwing means we get the pace of the game flowing when we're on top.
He was majorly at fault for the goal by gifting the ball away, but was involved in the build up for Hamers goal.
But I seem to be in the minority.
That said I wouldn't renew based on ann the injuries he has and he seems to be made of glass.
He’s not been mentioned much, so honourable mention to Panzo, I thought he was solid defensively when challenged, often nipping in front of the attacker or getting a foot in to make a good tackle. He got skinned once though.
He’s also uber confident on the ball and I thought him and JWE worked well offensively.
Re Gyokeres, he was like a man possessed tomorrow so there is absolutely no indication he’s coasting or not interested or whatever. He was just massively pissed off with himself, plus his default look seems to be moody regardless.
