I thought at the time he played on, as if he thought Vincenti was fouled.
Didnt see the 'advantage' signal from the ref, he looked at it for ages I don't think he knew what was going on tbh.
Was definitely a foul and a 2nd yellow was bizarre when the ref didn't blow and we broke everyone seemed to stop!
He definitely doesn't pull out of the challenge, it was just so late he never actually catches him. The Carlisle player plays the ball forward, sees Vincenti coming, jumps it then lands on top of Vincenti and goes over. Could easily have got a 2nd yellow and walked for the pure recklessness. He actually pulled out of the challenge. Was half-waiting for the second yellow but it would have been the wrong decision.
So biamou gets 6 for chasing and pressuring but beavon does this too along with several good passes and gets 4? Vincenti did far more than nazon all game and gets 5?Burge 8 - thought he made two outstanding stops, really liking this option for where we're at now.
Grimmer 8 - Excellent throughout, plenty of space his side, but forward runs were good too.
Willis 7 - looked solid, did what he needed to do.
Davis 8 - won everything in the air and used the ball well most of the time. Looks composed, worry is sometimes too comfortable.
Stokes 6 - I like Stokes and defensively sound, but whilst nothing horrific, distribution was poor and not one of his better games.
Doyle 7 - does it what sys on the tin. Uncomplicated, but lucky not to have been booked.
Kelly 6 - tidy passing, kept busy, 1 dreadful attempt on goal, but I do wonder what he is doing sometimes.
Vincenti 5 - would have been a 4 but for putting the ball in the net. I was actually wondering what the point of him was before then.
Nazon 6 - good finish and looked sharper after the goal until injured. I think there is a player in there but need some consistency.
Jones 8 - tireless running, defenders couldn't handle him even when doubled up. Deserved a goal albeit a little greedy when better options
Beavon 4 - runs around like a headless chicken, never a threat, a couple of awful shots that looked like pass backs. Tries but so ineffective.
Biamou 6 - tidy feet and showed a few touches of class. Chased the ball and pressured defenders too.
DKE - not enough time to judge fairly.
Biamou looked more of a threat (imo) and I also said "touches of class" (one little flick on the far side was awesome) I never think Beavon will score when the ball is at his feet. Vincenti imo was poor. Next time I'll pm you to see if yo're ok with it before I post!So biamou gets 6 for chasing and pressuring but beavon does this too along with several good passes and gets 4? Biamou was a threat to the opposition defence . Beavon tried hard. but his legs are gone. 2 excellent chances - but powderpuff shots all gameSo biamou gets 6 for chasing and pressuring but beavon does this too along with several good passes and gets 4? Beavon had one great shot saved. Nazon had a good chance first half that he got knocked off easily. Beavon played much better alongside a proper target manBiamou was a threat to the opposition defence . Beavon tried hard. but his legs are gone. 2 excellent chances - but powderpuff shots all game
Vincenti is a difficult one- he looks awkward, but i think that goes against people;s view of him. I think he is an asset to us, but will not get the plaudits. That said, Nazon to me always looked like he had a goal in him last night

Legs are gone? Rubbish. Ran himself into the ground doing Nazon's running for him. It was Beavon that put Jones clean through when he hit that awful right footed shot wide. Beavon who found Jones down the right to cross for Vincenti's goal and who played the 1-2 in the box with Grimmer which was almost a goal and was involved in the excellent build up to the first goal. With Biamou, Vincenti and Beavon it's just confirmation bias for people's pre-formed opinions on players.Biamou was a threat to the opposition defence . I thought beavon second hslf was excellent last night
Well that screenshot was taken from ifollow and is half a second after the ball has been played - his leg is still fully outstretched. He doesn't catch him only because of the evasive action taken by the player. It' was borderline for me but it's still clumsy/reckless to slide in that late 10 yards from the referee when you're already on a yellow - it could have been a game changer at 1-0.Angle doesn't do it justice, I was further left of that and Vincenti definitely retracted his leg as he slid in. Good yard between him and the player.
On the Beavon pass out to Jones, it was terribly weighted. Could have played it along the ground 10 yards shorter and Jones is on his left and it most likely ends up a goal.
"With Biamou, Vincenti and Beavon it's just confirmation bias for people's pre-formed opinions on players"
I accept we disagree on 2 of those 3 Esotercia, but that's an ill-judged assumption of opinions, certainly on my part. I posted as I saw it and honestly so no real threat from either Beavon or Vincenti, hence my ratings. Biamou looked much improved fwiw.
One thing I didn't add to my ratings however was just how much we rely on Jones (again imo). His pace stretches the game and creates much more space for everyone. Even if he's not firing, I think the way we were set up that without him we'd be fecked. Hopefully the opposition don't work that out early and start nobbling him even more.
we could go 3-5-2
Grimmer up the right
Jodi up the left
3 c backs
kelly and doyle protecting
Nazon and biamou up top
Vincenti in behind
stokes and beavon to the bench
I just gave 4 examples where Beavon was directly involved in creating goalscoring chances. His link play is very tidy whenever we actually have a central midfield that bridge the massive hole in the middle. I don't know how you could watch the 2nd half yesterday and think he gave no real threat unless you chose not to see his involvement in those things, consciously or not.
So you did watch him enough to notice all the bad things he did but didn't note any of the good things he was involved in - which is exactly what I said in my first point about the confirmation biasI didn't really note his involvement no, but if you say he did fair enough. However were any at 0-0 when it counted and there wasn't so much space? In the first half when Grimmer went marauding down the right and laid off a lovely ball to him in space before he tamely sent it in the general direction of the goal, it was pathetic. I'm not basing the 90 minutes on that either, so often not making the intelligent runs or anticipating anything that might fall not to mention giving the ball away, I wouldn't call that tidy either. The offside looking along the line in a half hearted effort (and that was 2nd half too) was kids stuff.
I dont think he wanted to give him any lessBeavon 4 lol.
