Player turnover (1 Viewer)

This from the first game of the TM era...not one player in that XI played in the final starting XI v Wimbledon last month. I know he wanted to remake the team in his own image (and Stokes injured and would presumably have played) but this to me is a real shocking indication of the rate of player turnover - a 100% change in our starting XI in 18 months. Maybe this is similar at other clubs in this league, I don't know, but it's hardly a surprise we lack stability and long term consistent results if the players are going through the revolving door at such a rate.....

Looking at the team we had then Its no wonder they're not still here. Apart from Samuel who was on loan and possibly fleck would you want any of them still?

A 20 second search shows that port vale had an entirely different match day squad in their last match compared to the match you've mentioned.

this was mowbrays first game. why the hell would he keep a team that were crap when he took over and also proceeded to lose that game 3-2 at home. he kept us up. job done. then its about building a team in his image. then its about building for years

from last season we have:

rcc,willis,ricketts,stokes,haynes,bigi,lameries,jones,tudgay still here now

and he added longer term contract players since like sordell, thomas, reid, etc

clearly we were/are heading in right direction

TM wasn't shy when it came to getting rid of players. Nouble, Turgott, Barton, O'Brien, Martin....some of them fair enough, but others would still do a good job for us now.
