A follow on from the dion thread.
Who is your favorite ever player?
1 only no maybe him or him and the reason.

Lloyd Mcgrath for his out and out commitment and never giving up no matter what came at him.

Will look at the results after 2 weeks and compile a list.

Peter Ndlovu. Can't remember when we have had somebody since who could run at people like him! Carl Baker in his first couple of games looked as exciting where he was taking people on for fun but not now :(

The username is a clue - but could it be anyone other than the great Tommy Hutchison (always assuming you're old enough to remember him).

Lloyd McGrath. Immense. Committed. Loyal. Nice bloke. You'd struggle to use any of those adjectives with players nowadays.

In chronological order, players I watched and liked since childhood:

Steve Ogrizovic
Brian Borrows
Peter Ndlovu
Micky Quinn
Phil Babb
Dion Dublin
Richard Shaw
Noel Whelan
John Salako
Darren Huckerby
Roland Nilsson
Gary Breen
Steve Froggatt
George Boateng
Mustapha Hadji
Muhamed Konjic
Robbie Keane
John Hartson

Then that's probably the end as far as nostalgia goes, on to the bad days.

seeing as you narrowed your list down :p, i will give you ndlovu as I used to talk to him quite a bit years ago with coby jones, used to beg him not to leave nuddy that was when he was linked with spurs once.

I'm going to have to give a top 5 whilst I'm being nostalgic:

1. Dion Dublin - Goalscorer, leader and contrary to popular belief loved the club and gave it his all.
2. Roland Nilsson - Pure class, amazes me he never played at a higher level.
3. Peter Ndlovu - I have never seen a more skilful player than Nuddy.
4. Robbie Keane - Would be higher up if we had him longer. A joyful 8 months as a creative exciting forward.
5. George Boateng - First genuine box to box Midfielder I ever saw play for City and classy on the ball. Turned into a DMC at other clubs.

Really difficult when you've followed City for 50 years as I have. However, with some careful consideration, I have chosen Tommy Hutchinson. Pure magic! Just to follow on with a few more, Bobby McDonald, Robbie Keane, and just because he scored one of the best ever goals seen in an FA Cup final, Keith Houchen! There's loads more but you only want the one.

oh and for his small cameo, and pure entertainment Micky Quinn.

Lloyd Mcgrath - when I was 8 we did a hero talk in school (bear in mind I went to school in Cornwall) and I did a 15 minute talk on Lloyd Mcgrath. I can still picture everyone's confused faces now, including the teacher ....

.. and still to this day, if anyone asks my hero, I say Lloyd Mc G!

Forty years of suffering so there's a few to choose from:
Bill Glazier
Jim Blyth
Danny Thomas
Brian Burrows
Roland Neilson
Bobby McDonald
Stuart Pearce
Mo Konjic
Trevor Peake
Steve Hunt
Ian Wallace
Tommy Hutchison
Dion Dublin
Dennis Mortimer
Denis Wise

But to pick just one - Dion - so underrated by others but a real class player

Sorry can't pick just one:

Forward: Dion Dublin for being far and away the most effective goalscorer, targetman and talisman that I've ever seen in Sky Blue

Midfield: Peter Ndlovu for being exciting to watch, and for the hilarious way that he'd take a run up for headers

Defence: Roland Nilsson for being absolute class and for showing the RB is not a nothing role on the pitch

GK: Oggy. No explanation needed.
