This leadership thing is a load of bollocks. You shouldn't need someone to tell you to run and track back ffs. You should have that in yourself, a will to win at all costs. Roy Keane and Viera haven't played for 20 odd years man. It's a cop out excuse.

We have a young squad in comparison to most in this league & we’ve regularly seen teams good at the “dark arts” beat us. That’s when you need a strong aggressive leader to counter act the bullies. We’ve been too nice.

Realistically, the Chairman and Performance Director will have decided when to act and will probably have replacements in mind. The international break is looming.

Not necessarily, I think it’s the players willing to put the hours in and take on instructions who he works best with. McF’s improvement even in this league supports that.

Not many players in this squad look like they want to go the extra mile to better themselves or the team.

With the squad we have now, 100%.

That squad is far too good to go down. So he would have to bite the bullet in that circumstance.

To be fair if we’re in a serious threat of relegation with this squad he would deserve the sack let alone relegated.

In years to come they will tell the tale of a young Alex Ferguson scoring the goal that saved Mark Robins from the sack before going on to become the most successful manager of a generation.

This conversation is ridiculous. "Should Robins go?" - madness.

Yesterday was absolutely dreadful there is no getting away from it . Yet virtually the same players should've won quite easily against premier league opposition midweek .
It was a brave call to play them again when there were some on the bench that were clearly rested with Saturday in mind.
Robins has flaws and there isn't any doubt in that but there has to be a collective responsibility amongst the players also .
Robins will get us through this of that I've no doubt but we are in a trough currently and rumours of disagreements between him and DK aren't positive in that respect. On the loans rumours I had heard from a few Liverpool fans we were after James McDonell before he got injured so I don't think we are wholly against loanees

The decision isn't ours. Robins has a lot of credit in the bank with City fans. It'll be Doug wielding the axe and he has zero in the bank with him.

Deserved, most definitely. Would I want it, no probably not.

Personally I find any talk of Robins out after 6 games baffling. I still beleive when he leaves is when we go back to being mediocre for seasons on end. Feels like we have this conversation at this point every year.

Resounding "Robins in" for me. The players need to step up

It’s a difficult one - what he’s done here has been sensational but we are seeing the same mistakes repeated again and again. Tactically I’m not convinced he’s ever really been up to scratch, given our successes have only ever come from enforced system changes. What he’s been able to do is instil a belief that we can achieve what we want to achieve, but with many of his allies gone it seems this is being tested like never before.

If it were me, he’d have until the November international break to get us to top half/top 10 - should be eminently achievable - or he faces the boot. Gives him 9 games but if he were to go it also gives a newcomer 8-9 games before the January window to properly understand and assess the squad.

Christmas next season before any changes are made

We’ve spent a lot of money but given the scale of money required to challenge at the top of the table, it’s not that much.

Especially when you look at the state of the team in 2022/23. The team after the loans, Vik and Hamer leaving would have struggled in the Championship.

Im sorry, I just can’t defend the state we’re in now, if you compare our squad to most you’ll see they haven’t spent as much as we have. How much money did Ipswich and Luton invest to go up? I guarantee a fraction of what we’ve paid. I don’t know many teams that would have 1 win in 6 after investing 45 million. It has me thinking, where an earth did the money get spent?!

It’s 6 league games into the campaign, it’s too early to judge on anything. The underlying data metrics show we’ve played better than our results suggest.

A lot of the we have spent is on players who will develop too, players like Rudoni and EMC probably just need a good run in the side and hit some good form.

It’s a young side and we’ve been missing Sheaf to provide some leadership. We have some gaps in the team that are well known by now and identifying the correct talent has probably taken longer than expected.

I’m not panicking, momentum is so important in the championship and getting that next win will probably be followed by a good run. Again, for the last 7 years our slow starts are the norm and thing pick up. In fact, the one season we did start quickly, we ended up dropping off (2021/22).

I am more, why on earth are these players, that cost that kind of money, playing much better and are so hit and miss?

I actually think if we were relegated then Robins would walk away.

If we look at the things Robins definitely has control of, he has made numerous errors.

The unchanged team from an energetic game against PL opposition, even if wanting to reward them for a good (albeit losing) performance was madness, and he has pretty much admitted as such.

Longer term there has always been issues with his formations early on in a season as he tries to instill something he wants but doesn't work, then falling back on an enforced change that works.

In game, we start too slow, looking to not concede, and his substitutions always seem too late and don't react to other teams changes which often shifts momentum away from us. They're also unadventurous and like-for-like, so we don't try a new formation to make the opposition think.

All of these things don't look good for him.

But at the same time there are lots of things that MR doesn't control (though he has a say).

Transfers for example. I understand he need for a recruitment team to highlight players, but ultimately it is DK who has control of transfers, not MR, because he signs the cheques. And it seems he is largely wedded to the buying young talent with resale potential, even though it may not build the balanced team you need. (I will admit it appears he was willing to sanction Browne, but that may have fallen through because DK was looking at the young, resale potential option of Stamenic). I can't see MR telling the recruitment team to get so many attackers in rather than a midfielder.

Then there is the new coaching set up. Again I feel MR may have agreed to it, but would he have requested it? I'm not sure. And is this a case of looking at successful teams and copying rather than working out how well it applies to us? What do all the coaches do? What are there areas of responsibility? Who is doing defence, attacking, set pieces, finishing/shooting? Is there a head coach who has overall responsibility? If rumours are to true it seems some of the players aren't particularly impressed with some of the appointments.

We also have the backroom set-up of Performance Director and the scientists, nutritionists, analysts, sleep coaches, psychologists etc, yet the players look the least motivated they have in a long, long time. So are they not doing their job?

So as it stands I would rather have DK let MR bring in the midfield reinforcements he wants and see how that affects us. I would also rather see us remove a coach or two (I would suggest the GK coach as I've not seen our keepers improve in the years he's been here) and send the youth coaches back to their original positions (the youth teams have been poor for a few years) and either designate one of the coaches a Head Coach or hire a specific Asst Manager.

If these don't have the desired effect by Xmas and we're still struggling at the bottom, maybe consider again.

It's a game of fine margins. All the attacking players have missed some absolute sitters this season. I think we were 4th or 5th for missing big chances created. If a 1/4 of them had gone in we would be top 1/2 and saying its been a decent start to the season. Keep the faith, we won't keep missing those sitters and will be too half before Crimbo.
