I stand corrected. But ultimately the question is why is he not getting minutes? He’s obviously not doing something in training to merit getting picked - maybe suggest attitude?3 league goals.
He's just not that good and comparing him with ALF is laughableI stand corrected. But ultimately the question is why is he not getting minutes? He’s obviously not doing something in training to merit getting picked - maybe suggest attitude?
I call it the Adam LeFondre syndrome - scores goals wherever he went but for some reason he never stuck around
I didn’t compare his ability -I’m just saying that whilst ALF scores goals everywhere there was something not right he became nomadic - always mystified me he didHe's just not that good and comparing him with ALF is laughable
He played nearly 100 games each for 3 clubs then had a few loan spells late in his career. Bit of a journeyman but no Leon Clarke, I think he was one of those strikers not quite Championship levelI didn’t compare his ability -I’m just saying that whilst ALF scores goals everywhere there was something not right he became nomadic - always mystified me he did

Tranmere obviously watched him play before deciding to offer him a loan period - Why give him 45 mins in 4 or 5 months it borders on disrespectful - He may or may not be good enough to make the step to league football but if you take a guy out of his family environment to live miles away in Tranmere give the guy a chance to impress - If he had stayed at Cov no doubt he would be banging goals in the U23 - everyone but be then screaming to give him a chance in our first team -Just because he is a local lad that replies to fans on social media doesn't make him a great player.
If he cannot get into Tranmeres team who will be looking to stay up this season, why would he get into our team?
League 2 at best.

Fuck sake, he's 21 and it's 2 hours away from Cov.Tranmere obviously watched him play before deciding to offer him a loan period - Why give him 45 mins in 4 or 5 months it borders on disrespectful - He may or may not be good enough to make the step to league football but if you take a guy out of his family environment to live miles away in Tranmere give the guy a chance to impress - If he had stayed at Cov no doubt he would be banging goals in the U23 - everyone but be then screaming to give him a chance in our first team -
To put into context - Robins believes Baka is a better player than Ponticelli. He’s a natural finisher who will get goals if he’s given the chance. He never got a run of games in league 2 as the pressure was on for getting promotion and McNulty hit form. He’d have done as well as Baka and Chaplin last season in terms of goals but Robins clearly doesn’t see it in him.
Professional managers are not always correct and many times are wrong about a player - The player has to fit into the style of play of that manager which is decided before he joins as they would have watched him previously and also fit into the new area he is suddenly living in - The way it should work is that you either stay with your permanent club and fight for a place in the first team by good showings in the U23 or playing in the likes of the EFl cup or go out on loan and show up well with your loan club. Loans can accelerate your development into your permanent clubs, first team, on your return - However you do not expect to just attend training sessions and I would not have thought Cov city who handed Ponticelli a 4-year contract and paying majority of his wages to be developing his trade in training sessions as they may as well kept him at RytonFuck sake, he's 21 and it's 2 hours away from Cov.
Professional football managers who watch him train week in week out know better than us. If he cannot get into Tranmere's team why would he suit us?

Why? He's not eligible to play against us. And the game is on January 1st.When do we lay at Tranmere? Maybe we can recall him the day before?
Which is also when his loan ends. Why? He's not eligible to play against us. And the game is on January 1st.
Disagree completely, he's not even in the same league as Chaplin literallyHe’s a natural finisher who will get goals if he’s given the chance. Weird suggestion, but in that case, the same question - why? If/when he returns he will at best be 5th (probably 6th) choice striker now they are all fit.I think the point was bring him back so he could play for US against THEM - fired up and ready to prove them wrong.

Because he'd be so fired up to perform and score against them to prove them wrong and also to prove to us he's worthy of game time so he can actually play some football.
But he’s not very good
Apart from putting chances away consistently. Not like we need anyone who can do that at the moment is there?
He hasn’t though
