does anyone know what country you officially died in if you kick the bucket whilst in flight? Was it the one you took off from, the one you were (hoping) to land in, or somewhere else entrirely? I can't find the answer by googling.

you are recorded as dying in the country where the airline you died on is registered as a company. So you place of death could be thousands of miles from where you actually died.
If you were on a flight and it crash landed perfectly on the border, exactly 50% in America and exactly 50% in Mexico, where would they bury the survivors?
