I thought I posted this before but it didn't appear, not sure why.

Peterborough United and the city council have ended their rent disagreement, with the prospect of London Road receiving a £1m upgrade.

Posh refused to pay their £500,000 rent to Peterborough City Council last term.

But in a new proposal, the club will reduce its rent to £300,000 per year, while the council has asked members to approve the allocation of £1m towards ground development."

that's one dispute sorted out, c'mon SISU and ACL, follow suit!

£300k a year for a stadium such as London rd.
Anyone still think £400k a year for a stadium such as the Ricoh is still unreasonable?
And none of this 'access to all revenue streams' rubbish, that would equate to about 100k a year profit....so effectively £300k a year to use an Olympic standard football venue.

Is that 300K plus match day costs?
Love to see what the actual figures are for CCFC when all this is finished.

400K divided by 25 equals 16k per game.
About a £1.50 per person per game. Something wrong with SISU thinking on this.
They would sooner take a cut of £8 per person per game, which actually equates to a lot more with the vastly smaller crowds expected.

Is it really about the rent? [the clue might be in Sisu being prepared to lose 2m in gate revenue for a 100/150k gain on the rent package. i.e its about the Ricoh]
we're about to find out...
But no one in their right mind should give this bunch of unethical business failures a stake in the Ricoh.

Gates have dropped from 17.4K when SISU took over; to 10.9K per league game last year. I've read that the average revenue per head is £22 per person, allowing for the mix of juniors, season ticket holders, corporates, etc.

That drop in crowds equates to some £3.6m lost income per season.

The cost of relegation is significantly more pertinent to any financial woes; than rent or F&B incomes. Yet some still point to this being the biggest issue. Jeeeessss.....

The gamble has cost SISU dear, and they need to seize the Ricoh to package the deal, sell on and claw some income and credibility back. That's it

You make it sound as maximising our revenue streams is just worthless, why shouldn't every option be explored?

To be fair though, some clubs fans show a bit better support through both good and bad times than many of ours do.

Southampton and Norwich saw their crowds rise on relegation to League One, and with such low away crowds in League One generally, must be quite a considerable rise in home fans attending.

Our fans want the chicken and the egg.

They didn't. When there was discontent, orange-jacketed monkey's quashed any murmurings like a (well fed) North Korean hit squad. Fans have been lied to, or misled. Players sold, and managers changed.

SISU's tenure has been a PR disaster. How much of the dwindling crowds is a function of our city's fickle fans, and how much self-inflicted by SISU's inept management and communication; who knows?

But one thing is for sure. Their lost income is a significantly bigger issue than rent/F&B's/et al

What may have started off as negotiations over rent was very quickky realised ti be nothing of the sort...ulterior motives.
In my opinion Sisu can not and must not ever own ANY share in ACL/The Ricoh Arena.

I believe CCFC should but not while Sisu/Otium have anything to do with us.

The reason being is the revenue streams in the bigger picture are irrelevant. 100K per year from F&B profits at the Ricoh (Stadium) is nothing.
To say it is the main reason is simply wrong when you do the figures.
It also does not warrant getting them for free when SISU have made no contribution to the infrastructure. Maybe not there fault initially but they have made no effort to buy into it when available.
True the infrastructure relies on CCFC but that does not give them a the right to the Ricoh.

But for most teams that rent their stadiums 365 days per year it isn't just about the F&B's, it's about letting out function room's, meeting rooms, pitch side advertising, sponsorship of stands, car parks, sub letting faculties, etc.

And in terms of F&B's how do ACL and compass only make 10% profit? Surely that's a poor business model.

I have no idea.....but I have been to numerous work meetings, workshops and events at Cov Rugby Club, which is not exactly the Ritz.

On a different note; If Peterborough stayed in the Championship, there were no longer able to use their terracing this season, will the terracing now be used for League 1. ?? or is that the ground improvement.
This would also effect Yeovil and their terracing, now they in the Championship.
Shame to lose the last bits of terracing!

Back on the theme - huge rent for such a ground. Clubs need to keep hold of their grounds!!!
