What I don't get is that Liverpool had two players out with Covid and they still played, Man City had two players out with Covid and their game is postponed.
Same with concussion substitutes, happened in cricket already. It was always obvious that people would play the game.

Man City had two players out for Boxing Day and played. Subsequent tests found multiple others positive so would think would have had 4 or 5 out for yesterday plus players having to isolate
The initial failed tests were two named players, Jesus and Walker, and two staff. The additional failed tests just said after testing players and staff which makes me wonder if any additional players were ruled out.Man City had two players out for Boxing Day and played. If there was one player at Man City you would have put money on catching Covid the serial shagger and rule breaker Walker would have been it.
According to some rumours the EFL are launching an investigation in to why some clubs have postponed matches for false reasons (m sure @Nick said this would happen)
Some clubs have been breaking Covid protocols by not using multiple buses and not giving players own hotel rooms.
Some rumours of the clubs being investigated Rotherham, Bournemouth and Sunderland (These are just rumours iv seen)
Will be interesting to see who is under investigation and what the punishment will be.
Come on Barnsley tonight !!Would be nice to see Rotherham lose some points.
Smashing um palCome on Barnsley tonight !!
On the other side of the coin, would the EFL penalise teams if by forcing the game to be played, the risk to others (officials, opposition players) would be too great ? Rotherham are playing because they have to or face a points deduction.
Paul Warne: Rotherham United boss fears 'points deduction' if Barnsley game called off
Rotherham United boss Paul Warne says his side fear a points deduction if they were to call off Tuesday's derby with Barnsley.www.bbc.co.uk
This sums it up. Teams are under huge pressure to fulfil their fixtures, not to cancel them. The idea that teams would risk a points deduction just because they fancied a rest has always been ridiculous.
It depends on the team doesn't it?
I mean, I guess? But it’s such a reckless gamble that it would have to be an extreme case to convince me. People on here were suggesting teams were trying it in the first few weeks of the season. It made no sense. People talking as if this was pub league stuff.
It makes perfect sense that people will try and manipulate the situation.
Paul Warne’s comments suggest otherwise. Again, this isn’t Sunday League.
One manager said "possibility of a points deduction".
Did Tranmere get one when their players were car sharing?
There are no set rules, it is made up as they go along. It may as well be Sunday League.
I’ll take one manager speaking on the record as better evidence than randoms on a message board!
The rules have been clear since, well 1997, when they kept us up - fuck around with postponing fixtures for dodgy reasons, and you could lose points.
If Tranmere players have been car sharing then I’d rather assume that was because of sloppy application of the COVID rules (imagine that!) rather than some conspiracy to throw a game because they’re tired. Deliberately exposing your players to a deadly virus because you don’t fancy next week’s opponents seems a bit extreme to me.
Exactly this. There are no set rules, it is made up as they go along. It may as well be Sunday League.
Fair enough, probably why then.
