I never said that we finished 14 points ahead of them did I, I said we earned 14 more points than them which is a known fact set in stone. That doesn't indicate a team that struggled last year.
Sadly all the goals have been taken out of the team. And the second half to the season was awful. Lucky to stay up really.
Clarke has been replaced as a positive as I think everyone likes tudgay but where is Wilson pace and 20+ goals? I don't see it. I also don't see a Franck moussa playmaker and stunning game changing goals.
I really find it hard to understand why people on this thread think we're going to be relegated. You clearly haven't seen these players in action and clearly just judged them by their stats on wikipedia. Yes we're obviously going to score less goals thats hardly a surprise with the absence of Clarke and Wilson but i think we'll conciede a lot less with the likes of Johnson and Pugh coming into the side. I personally think our defence was shocking last year. Christie could't care less and wanted to leave, Webster, Clarke and Adams were all inconsistant and made horrendous mistakes frequenty. Overall the squad has got a lot more depth than last year and looks solid and i'm actually pretty chuffed with most of the signings. I predict upper mid-table. Play-offs look slightly out of reach considering the quality of some of the other squads
I''m putting all my eggs in one basket - if we get something against Bradford, I fancy us to do ok(ish).
If we lose that one, the following handful of games look tough, and I fear a mediocre season....but I'm feeling hopeful for Saturday (as I think Bradford are likely to be poor this season), so fingers crossed
Is it just me but I am totally unexcited about the footie starting again.
I hope some passion kicks in come Saturday, though I will be at some Eastern counties game probably in the middle of nowhere
I won't be going to Sixfields. SISU will continue to dick everyone around. Otis will continue to make laugh. Nick will continue to sit on the fence about being biased. Andreas B will continue to infuriate. Grendell will say something worthwhile then follow it with utter garbage. Ying and yang will still exist between me and Northern Wisdom in a respectful way. I will try and travel to away games. I hope SP and the lads give us a season to remember and progress as a unit.
RFC will continue to illustrate why care in the community doesn't work.
Why does every assume will be back at the Ricoh? Logistically it's not possible. How would they price up season tickets and match day prices? How would they cancel there agreement with Northampton after paying up front and for the maintainece of the pitch? Plenty of other behind the scenes jobs which wouldn't occur overnight... Fans seemed brainwashed by recent pr stunts of SISU... They are not interested in a return to the Ricoh. If they were, we would be playing there against Cardiff a week on Wednesday. Stop kidding yourselves
And as for one the pitch. A lot depends on 2 aspects of this newly set up team.
1) stop leaking goals and shore up at the back
2) will the new strikers (especially tudgay) have the fight for the cause? Bearing in mind he "fell" outta love with the game last season and having so many loanees. Also need the fleck from early part of the season playing not the lacklustre one we seen near the end
