Both seem exempt at the moment of any criticism.

Give us our minus 10 points back and we will still finish out of the top six. Is that good enough, for me because it is SP's first season and we sold his top striker half way through yes it is.
I like his no mess approach. I like his tactics. However his football style is so high octane next season we will need an actual squad not a team.

SP's signings have on the whole disappointed me. Hopefully over the summer he will have time to choose more wisely.

I am going to reserve judgement till next season.

Mr Waggot. I genuinely am not sure what his role is. Does SP identify players and SW goes and gets them. Or is he also identifying players.

Is he sorting out new contracts?

Is he behind trying to make the club feel like a more community friendly club?

I would like to know what his remit is.

Murphy says he wants a contract that should be dived on (excuse the pun). I think without a goalkeeper of his calibre relegation would have paid us a visit this season.

Callum was a very good signing.

At the moment though I am unsure why Mr Waggot is so rated.

Outside of the top six is not good enough. Our defensive record is woeful.
Pressley still gets a pass from me due to the situation with the club in general though.

Don't care about Waggot.

Don, not sure Pressley can choose more wisely.
Despite words coming out of the club to the contrary we are bargain basement shopping.
It'll be SP asking Waggott - can I have him? Waggott, - no, but you can get him in.'
I'm sure SP didn't really want the kid from Arsenal, but the owners gave him little option.
It's not his judgement we should question but his budget.
And a season of away games. Massive consideration.
Come back to the Ricoh and the budget will change.
But Sisu's strategy is insane.

The problem is ,with willson and clarke , sp very good , without willson and clarke ,sp not so good , first half of the season very good , second no so , next season no clarke and possibly no willson then sp ????

Lets be fair to Pressley, he played without a striker for a few weeks. He's been shopping in Netto for loanees. It can't be all poor judgement, some of it is down to what is affordable.

The only thing I'm disappointed in is the persistence with some of these loanees (perhaps its the terms of the loan agreement).

Clarke was absolutely key to the way we play and him leaving basically ruined the season.

points deduction is more than just -10, it takes a toll mentally. players are less motivated during middle point of season and it has rendered the run in meaningless for the most part. idiotic to think that we would have had same results all season long without deduction.

so pressley will get no criticism from me this season.

The minus 10 points also helped them get a good start as they were trying to get back level. To be honest I am bored with the Sisu spin over the ten points and look where we would be if it hadn't been taken away they don't ever seem to say look where we would be if we invested in the playing staff properly. Regarding Pressley he is doing ok with a very average group, Waggott he has supplied most of the average group.

We shall see next year when they don't start with minus ten, I get no joy in seeing our team being dragged further down by the current owners (I don't believe many of the previous owners were any better either and don't start me on the self appointed Mr Coventry). But these are the worst.

Whatever happens at the start of next season it's likely to be with enough of a personnel difference from the start of this one that you won't really be able to draw much conclusion.

I enjoyed watching the club at the start of the season Port Vale defeat was even enjoyable. Last 2 games were Brentford & Crewe, dire performances. IMO if we were to start the season now we would be in the relegation zone and relagated with many games to go. I don't think enough is made of the revolving door especially with strikers coming and going the squad team was initially settled up to November since its being chaotic and this has impacted on a relegation form post Xmas.

SP is only as good as the players he is given, Waggot is only as good as the cash that he is given, SISU have tightened the purse strings Waggot is chasing freebies not just on transfers but convinced many of our loans have been on the free also. Rory Donnelly signing sums up the club's players in this season.

Pressley has to do better next season in some areas next season, he gets some leniency from me because of the good start this season. If we continue our poor form into the next season then questions need to be asked.

For me SP has worked wonders on the team this year. We should have been relegated (I know it's still possible) but so far our heads are above the water. We have lot of shit going on and Clarke leaving etc so well done to SP in my eyes. The one thing we need to focus on for the team next year (assuming we have enough players) is defending. Simple as that. That is what has cost us a play off spot this year along with the deduction. If you don't think so that look at the F and A in the league table and tell me I am wrong.

I'm sure you are a very nice person - but that is bollocks. Every club has a budget. Pressley knows his budget and selects his targets within that.

I agree with the guy who said that Pressley's selections have been poor. My opinion is that he is good motivator - but he is a poor scout. He is riding high off the players bought in by Robbins and Thorn and the players grown by Rioch.

We should bring back Thorn as Head Scout.

Cody if still with us would no doubt have been vital since January.

Did he promote some of the youngsters to the first team?

We have Blair Adams and was Moussa the Robins era.

SP signings we have Seabourne Webster any of loanees up front

Was Baker scouted by Thorn?

You can quote just as many players signed by MR and SP who have not settled here

So seems quite a mix to be fair.

SP is definitely still to be proven in this area.

I could say other people's obsessions with continually running them down despite the fact they are no longer with us is equally bizarre.

14 goals as our back up striker would have been much appreciated. So I don't think he needs slagging off really.

TBF on Cody, even Pressley sort of admitted he got that wrong. Didn't he say he made the decision when he only planned to play one up front and wouldn't have done it after he decided to play 2?

We've been playing catchup on that decision all season. Won't hammer Pressley though as he had tough choices on wages to make no doubt.

Mr Scally completed a complex deal for the 27-year-old striker during the middle of last week. McDonald had a year left on his Coventry contract but agreed a settlement to terminate the deal, having been left unwanted by the League 1 outfit’s current management.

Gills chairman Paul Scally said: “I’m delighted. I’ve been working on the deal for around three months.

“Coventry took a lot of persuading because they paid £500,000 for him from Norwich and were paying a huge amount for him on wages, probably treble to what we are now paying him.

Yeah, to be fair he did say that, although it was in the preview leading up to the gillingham game so difficult to know whether he's just being nice about a former player. He did sign off from the article saying:

“But, as often happens, players come back and haunt their previous clubs. But, as I said before, I really liked Cody and he’s a good player.

“Some managers move players on not because they aren’t good players but because they don’t fit the system and philosophy. Certain players suit certain styles. I see a lot of players do well in a certain team and then move to another team and don’t. He just didn’t have the DNA that we wanted.”

Pressley and Waggot

Pressley - Done well in coaching a certain type of play which is entertaining but needs to learn a defensive type of craft and digging in when needed. Seems to have lost that motivational type of character which was evident early in the season. Speaks well at times. If it was his decisions on transfers then this area needs a lot of work and quite frankly been woeful in a nutshell.

Waggot - Not sure exactly what his role is but if it is in the transfer market then he is shit. Whether he had a budget or not other teams have picked up good frees and loans but we still managed to get shite in despite being told that we would make the squad stronger in the January window with signings and the only thing we managed to achieve was to get players who clearly did not want to be here.

Next season is going to be a big ask in my opinion and talk of players like Boyd etc is bollocks when we cannot compete financially with teams in our own league. Another season of toil especially if we are still at Sixfields.
