How does 5-3-2 help wingers?
I thnk we will be more flexible than that 3 centre backs 2 wide defenders/attacking midfield 3 midfiel then 2 attackers

I honestly don't think he'll play 4-4-2. It's too static and old fashioned for Pressleys football philosophy. I can see it being 4-2-3-1 or something like that.
He's talked up Miller as a player who works well as part of a strike partnership, so I can't see him going to one up front. Equally, the number of wide players we've brought in suggests we won't be going to a back 3/5.
Like stu, I reckon it will be a similar shape to last year, just with slightly more defensively-minded full-backs.
Are we assuming Miller will be first choice then?
He has to be at the moment!
In any case, it shows Pressley at least considers the 4-4-2 as an option. He's also talked about bringing in 3 more strikers, which to me is another indication that he's looking at playing 2 up front.
It's possible that he may look at the 4-2-3-1 as a second option, which I certainly would have no problem with. The more flexible the squad is, the better.
I think the reason why SP seems so excited is because his football philosophy is based on the German style and as they won the WC his belief is stronger than ever. I think he will play 5-3-2 because it is the most adaptable during a game. I know it sounds weird but for players to switch from playing a 4-4-2 to a 5-3-2 is a big difference compared to 5-3-2 to 4-4-2.
5-3-2 with our players also suits their style especially as we have about 4 new wingers. In SP we trust
