To me Pressley seems to wants to be manager, coach, under 21's manager, academy manager, director of football, head of marketing and chairmen. He could run the club on his own. But I just hope we give the man time

I think the Difference is Pressley really wants to be here and really cares about the club (touch wood). Whereas to Robins it was always just a stepping stone to other things

You're not going to read any arguments from me. His philosophy of changing the club from the ground up, and his style of high fitness + high pressing has reaped results in the last few games.
Must admit I was still unsure about him last season but don't want to get carried away just yet.

I've been saying since the back end of last season, I've never seen a Coventry team retain the ball so well. Even though results were mixed, the promise was there. Vividly remember County on the last day, completely dominated, just conceded 2 silly goals.

I agree with all of the above. Last season at Walsall we were dreadful but it wasnt his team. Since then hes cleared out the deadwood, made us a decent team and says all the right things so far

I'm pleased with the progress especially with limited resources. But i am not going to jump on the bandwagon and make any rash judgments !

I like the way he's going about things. Definitely seems to have his head screwed on.

Wants to be involved from the top (first team) to the bottom (academy). Has put things in place to enable both squads to play similar ways so the transition from one to the other is made easier. And we're getting rewards.

I wasnt sure last season where our goals were going to come from under SP, but even this early into the season I'm being proven wrong, and we're seeing the goals flowing (some in more games than others). We're also creating ample of chances too, something we haven't always seen at CCFC.

Quite, it's all a bit soon. The guy has done well so far under the circumstances but 3 defeats and he becomes average again. I'll judge him around Christmas and see where we are by then. It could be said that he is still playing with a fair few of Robins team.

Great start for him this season (Pressley that is of course). The limited amount that I have seen,the style of play and the way he has organised the team is really impressive. If we can keep hold of him for a couple of years (that really does sound a long way off), then on the pitch at least things will have starting to turn the corner perhaps. What impressed with both MR and SP is that they seemed to develop a closely knitted squad who will play for each other. This rubs off on the fans, and generates "us and the team against the world" mentality (in the fans case - our owners and other culpable parties). Keep positive and hopefully we can get through all this. Friends and coleagues have actualy started to talk to me about our on the pitch exploits. I am looking forward to seeing some of it soon, and thats down to having some pride in how SP and team have quite simply just got on with it and performed.

We can't judge Stephen Pressley based on the last few games of the previous season.

Now that SP has had a full pre-season, implemented his own ideas, brought in his own players and got his idiology into the club you have to say so far he is doing really well, if by Christmas we are in the top 6 I will demand an honour for the bloke.

It's a difficult call to make so far, having not seen a game this season. What I will say is that Robins didn't have a pre-season to work on his ideas, so we don't know what would have happened if he was still here. Don't forget, Robins brought in Blair Adams, Franck Moussa and (I think) Leon Clarke, who are all key first team players. I don't think it's as easy as saying X is better than Y. Why don't we just say that our last two managerial appointments have both been pretty good.

SP has been forced to use the academy lads, so it is down to whoever was bringing the lads through in the academy who should be getting any plaudits not SP! His signing was Webster, who is supposedly the squads lynch pin, yet we are leaking goals at an alarming rate!

So if the academy is responsible for the kids, and SP is responsible for webster how can you possibly argue SP is a good manager! The same people who are making out SP is the second coming are the exact same people spouting the exact same BS about a certain Mr Thorn!

When SP took over he took over Robins squad, and the dip in form when he took over was alarming to say the least (had he been a caretaker manager no way would he have been given the job!). Now City have played 2 or 3 woefully poor sides all of a sudden he is the messiah - he isn't !

Maybe he will be, but there just is no evidence of that. Let's see how he gets on when the weather turns or players ar out injured!

Easy tiger! I think he's got off to a great start, and I hope things will continue. But still early days.

His faith in our young players has paid off massively and he's demonstrated excellent leadership skills as well as having good judgement.

I had faith in him (albeit the same could be said about many CCFC managers who failed!) and I'm happy he's doing so well considering the unfair criticisms from people about his style of play, his transfer policy and even the disgraceful comparison to Thorn, fortunately for all, I can say, I told you so

Multiply by this that he's had setback after setback, deducted 20 points, transfer embargo, and injuries. Take a bow son.

Some folk on here are hilarious. Robins was the best thing that happened to the club for decades until he buggered off, now he is an overrated arsewipe who got lucky with some good players. Pressley was a disaster and a negative appointment when he arrived and now he is working miracles.

And as for those saying 'I was right about this guy being crap and that guy being crap and all those other crap managers', well it's not been that much of a stretch to say 'new Cov manager, probably going to fail eventually' for the past 20 years. Pick one new football manager outside the Premiership who is going to be a long-standing, roaring success and let's see how you get on.
